Later that day when Steve and Sodapop got off of work, Steve said he wanted to talk to me in private.
"What?" I asked, as we walked outside.
"You've gotta tell mom and dad."
"I cant. Not yet at least."
"You've gotta tell them sometime."
"I know. I just dont know how I will."
"I dont either." He sighed.
I saw Bob and Randy's car drive by, yet again. They didnt stop, they saw that Steve was with me. If I was alone, they might have stopped and harrassed me.
"Are they like stalking me or something?" I asked.
"It seems like it." Steve sighed, "Ive gotta stick with you, we all do. I dont want them hurting you, or the baby."
Two-Bit came up to the door, "Hey." He said.
I turned my head and said, "Hi."
"Can I talk to you in private?" He asked opening the door.
"Yeah, sure." I said.
Two-Bit walked out the door, and Steve walked in.
"Lets walk." Two-Bit said walking down the steps.
"Okay." I said following him.
He wrapped his arm around my back and said, "Im actaully kinda excited that im going to be a dad." He smiled, "How are you going to tell your parents?" He asked.
"I dunno." I sighed.
"Should we tell them together?"
"I guess we could."
"And you're sure that im the dad?"
"Yes, of course! You're the only guy, ive ya know."
"Had sex with?"
"Yeah.."
"You can say that word, its not bad." He smiled.
"I know." I smiled back.
"I hope we have a girl."
"I kinda hope we do too."
"Do you have any names in mind?"
"Well, if we have a girl, I was thinking of something like Rhonda or Jacqueline. If we have a boy, I was either thinking of Calvin or Keith."
"Like my name." He stopped and smiled.
"Yeah." I stopped and smiled too, "So, what do you think?" I asked.
"I love those names, and I love you." He kissed me.
"I love you too." I smiled as he kissed me again.
Bob and Randy's car drove up next to us.
"Really?" I mummbled.
"Hey baby, why dont you come with us and ditch that dirty greaser boyfriend of yours." Bob smirked.
Randy slammed on the breaks, then they both, and their two friends in the back seat, got out of the car. Not know that Two-Bit would do this, but he took ot his pocket knife and started pointing it at them, saying "Come closer, I dare you!"
"Oh, so you wanna fight?" Randy asked.
"Yeah lets go!" Two-Bit yelled.
I was scared, I was afraid of getting hurt. We were out numbered, I didnt have any type of weapon on me, and im not a tough fighter. I searched around for anything I could use. Something caught my eye, a beer bottle. As I bent over to pick it up, I felt someone grab me, I screamed as I tried to fight my way out.
"Dont you touch her!" I heard Two-Bit yell, still trying to keep Randy away form me.
I kicked Bob in his knee, he let go of me. I took the bottle and busted it on the fence. Bob stood up, and he was about to swing at me till I yelled:
"Dont hurt me or my baby!"
"Baby?" He laughed, "Baby? So, this is the father?" He laughed again.
I looked over at Two-Bit.
"This guy?" Randy asked with a huge smile on his face, like as if he could'nt believe it.
"I wanted to be the father of your baby." Bob said stepping closer to me, just enough for him to grab me and kiss me.
"Stop!" Two-Bit yelled, as he punched Bob in the head.
Bob laughed, "Is that all you've got?" He punched Two-Bit in the gut.
"Stop!" I yelled, then pushed at Bob.
He got angry, he turned around and grabbed my arms, tight and said "Dont you do that again." He grunted and turned back to Two-Bit.
I heard footsteps running down the street, it was Darry, Soda, and Steve. Bob and Randy got into their car and drove off.They chased Bob and Randy down the street a ways.
"You guys should not be alone." Dally said in a quiet voice.
"Well, im glad y'all came when you did." Two-Bit said.
"Yeah, you guys have got to be careful." Darry said catching his breath.
"What do they want with me?" I asked.
"Its not them, its Bob." Steve said.
"But why? What does he want with me?"
"Love probably. Thats probably why he keeps harrassing you." Soda said.
"But why me?"
"I dunno. Im sorry though." Soda said hugging me.
