Chapter 7

Amdir POV
I woke up in my bed.There were no noises around me.I managed to open my eyes.I got out of the bed and looked out the window.When I opened the door,I tried to figure out which way to go.I remembered when I first got lost in this palace and Prince Legolas helped me out so I took the way I remembered he showed me.The halls were empty and quiet.I wondered into the palace until I found a guard.I felt relieved and hoped for some help.
"Hey!Excuse me!" He immediately turned to face me.He bowed and smiled.
"How can I help you Lady Amdir?" Why would he call me like that?
"I need to see the King.Can you tell me where I can find him?It is urgent." He shook his head. "I am sorry my lady,but this information is confidential.You will have to wait." This situation was getting on my nerves, so I tried to deal with him.I tried.
"Weren't you listening?It is urgent!I need to see King Thranduil now!"
"I said you have to wait until he comes out from his chambers!" I smiled when the guard finally gave me some useful information. "Finally!" I started heading to the King's chambers while the guard was shouting my name.I stopped in front of two enormous doors which you could tell belonged to the Great Elevenking,just by looking at all the details of golden leaves and flowers and of course,a big crown.I slowly knocked on the door,hopping that he wouldn't hear.But he did.My heart was galloping in my chest when he said "Enter." really calmly.I stepped slowly into the chambers.I stopped in my tracks just as I saw King Thranduil sitting at his desk and Legolas by his side.They were probably discussing some important business and I interrupted them.
"Lady Amdir,what a pleasure!How can I help you?"He didn't look bothered by my sudden appearance,which made me feel a little bit more comfortable.
"I wish to talk to you if you don't mind." When I said that,he looked up at Legolas and he understood what his father meant.When he reached the door,he looked at me and left.
I approached the King slowly,scared of the way he was watching me with so much attention.
"What are you frightened of,Lady Amdir? " The sudden question came out of his mouth and startled me,making me stop in my tracks.
"Excuse me?" My stupid question annoyed the King.
"I asked you a simple question and I expect you to answer it." I didn't know what to say,so I randomly answered "Nothing,I think.Since I don't remember much of my past." Thranduil laughed at my answer.
"How do you know then?"
That is when I approached him and confidently answered.
"I feel strong.That is what I wanted to talk to you about."
