"Ready, set, go!" Your friend Maxine, also known as Max, shouted as you were standing over on top of a building that you planned on parkouring down.

You jumped to a lower ledge then grabbed a pipe that was connected to the side of the building. You climbed down it, and then leaned over to where a window ledge was and did a back flip. You stuck the landing and raised your arms above your head and let out an excited shout. You would've chosen a more challenging building to parkour down but didn't want to attract the attention of the police after being given several warnings.

"Yeah!! That was awesome!" Max shouted.

Max is your partner-in-crime and, although she didn't do things as crazy as you did, she would still cheer you on from the sidelines.

"Oh! I heard there's gonna be another race tonight," Max said giving you a knowing look and you smirked in return.

"Well, sounds like the racer Lightspeed should make an appearance, don't cha think?" You replied back. You went by the name Lightspeed when you partook in the racing. So it's kind of like your stage name.

"You should totally go. My brothers got the car tonight so I won't be able to race, but you can still do it. And I'm gonna need to catch a ride with you," Max said.

"Alright, no problem. I look forward to tonight! I should go, my dad wants me home soon. Text me the location and I'll meet you there!" You said as you started walking in the direction of your house.

"You've got it! See you tonight!" Max shouted back as she turned towards her house.

You ran the rest of the way home, letting your dad know that you were home, and went up to your room. Excited for tonight, you decided to go ahead and prepare.

Time Skip

You had just picked up Max and were driving towards the location of the race. After arriving, although being an hour early, there was already a crowd. You pulled up and parked on the side of the road and then got out.

The sun was just about to go behind the mountains, making the sky purple and orange. You and Max sat on the hood of your car, watching as more people arrived. A red Aston Martin with very dark tinted windows caught your eye.

"I think I'm in love," you said, totally loving the car.

"Ha! Of course you are," Max laughed as she noticed the car you were staring at.

"Well the race is about to start. I'm gonna go ahead and pull up to the starting line. Would you mind signing me in?" You asked Max.

"Sure! I'll be cheering for you! I'm totally gonna make some money by placing bets on you winning," Max laughed as she walked away.

You got off the hood and got into your car, pulling up to the starting line. You looked to your left and saw the red Aston Martin pulling up right next to you. You put you're hand around your mothers necklace that you wore, your "lucky charm," feeling antsy and ready for the race to start.

"Drivers are you ready!" A voice rang out, followed by the roaring of engines.

"We are stoked to have the great LightSpeed here and ready to be apart of this race!" The man announced. You opened your car door and leaned out, waving to the crowd that cheered. You sat back down and waited for the count down.

"5...4...3...2...1!" And the roaring of engines and screeching of tires was heard as cars took off down the street.

You glanced to the sides seeing trees and lights in the distance zoom past in a blur. You were tied with a green Charger on your right and the Aston Martin on your left. You smirked as you slammed down the gas pedal, going even faster. You could see the finish line nearing but could see the Aston Martin getting closer.

Going even faster, you felt the adrenaline rushing through, feeling like you were on top of the world, unstoppable, invincible. You passed the finish line and came to a stop. You could already see Max on the side, jumping liked a crazed kangaroo.

You got out of your car, greeting the crowd and feeling like you were some celebrity, though you were far from it. Afterwards you leaned against the side of your car looking at the stars and coming down from your adrenaline high.

"Not bad, doll," you heard to your left and looked to see the Aston Martin. His window was cracked, just enough for you to hear his voice.

"Thanks. You're not so bad yourself. You new? I haven't seen you around here before," You replied.

"Yeah I'm new. I was in town and heard of a race and thought I'd join it," he said.

"Got a name, Hot Shot?" You asked.

"Knockout, and yours doll? Unless your real name is Lightspeed?" He joked, earning a bigger smile from you.

"My name's (Y/N)," you said. "You gonna be here long? I hear the next race they're having is in a few days," you asked him.

"Are you gonna be there?" He questioned.

"Why wouldn't I?" You replied with a smirk.

"Then I'll be there. Until next time, doll," Knockout said before driving off.

"I'm surprised you didn't ask for his number," Max said, coming up next to you.

"I barely even know him!" You laughed at the silly idea.

"Then you totally should next time," Max said giving you a funny look.

"So how much did you make on bets? We gonna blow it all tonight?" You asked her.

"I scored! And since when do we not spend it all the day we get it?" Max said and you both laughed.

"Then what are we waiting for!? Malls open for another three hours," you said as you both climbed into the car and sped off towards the mall.
