Talex- Is This Life?

Part 2

Alex's POV

Tobin texted me after Hope and I had finished asking for both of us to have a movie night with her and Kelley.

"Hope. They're having a movie night and want us to come. I think we kind of have to go since it's my house and your girlfriend." I said laughing.

"Yeah well you should make a move on Tobin. We know you two like each other." she said looking down at me. I scoffed.

"Wh- what're you talking about?" I asked. She raised an eyebrow. "Okay okay. Fine whatever. I might do it." Hope smiled.

"Maybe we should head to my house and get some items like blankets and such." Hope suggested. I nodded.

"Yeah. Y'all are gonna have to bring pajamas because we're not gonna let you leave most likely." I said laughing.

We headed back to Hope and Kelley's apartment and grabbed everything we needed. At this point, Tobin was impatient and blowing up my phone.

Once we arrived at our apartment, we walked through the door and saw Kelley on the couch. She looked over and smiled.

"Finally!" Tobin yelled from the kitchen, "Gosh it felt like you guys were gone for forever!" She came over and gave me a hug. I wrapped my arm around her.

"So what movie are we gonna watch?" we all looked over at Kelley as she stood up smiling. She held up a CD that had "Lights Out" on it. My eyes widened.

"A horror movie!?" I said.

"Yup!" Kelley said excitedly. "This is surely gonna be an interesting night."

"Very interesting." Tobin and I said at the same time. We looked at each other and laughed. Her eyes sparkled.

"Alright! Everybody go change, grab blankets, snacks, turn out the lights, and let's do this!" Kelley said rummaging through the bag that Hope had set down.

Everybody was back in about 10 minutes. Kelley was the last to be ready so we made her turn on the movie. I sat on the couch and Hope was on the loveseat. Kelley plopped down into Hope's lap and snuggled into her as the movie started. Tobin sat on the other side of the couch looking a little cold while staring at the TV.

"Toby." I whispered. She looked over at me. I opened my arms inviting her to join me. She smiled a little bit and cuddled up next to me. As the movie was going on, there were a lot of jump scares that made Tobin hide her eyes in my chest. By the time the movie was halfway over, we were laying down with Tobin on top of me. My arms were wrapped around her body as her hand lied on my chest. My eyes started to slowly close. Minutes later I couldn't hear any more of the movie.

I was later disturbed by a gentle shaking on my waist. My body was cold. Tobin must've gotten up.

"Hey, Lex, come on, movie's over babe. Hope and Kelley need the couch." With that said, I got up. Almost stumbling forward, I was caught into Tobin's arms. She stood me back up.

"Well someone's tired." Hope said chuckling. I smiled and sat on the floor watching Tobin set up the couch for her friends.

Damn she's so beautiful. I then shook my head trying to get that thought out of my mind.

"Everything all right?" Kelley said looking at me. Tobin and Hope were having a conversation of their own so they didn't notice. I motioned for Kelley to meet me in the kitchen. We both got up and left with a simple excuse of getting a drink of water. Once they were out of sight, I spun around looking at Kelley directly in the eye.

"I-I think I'm going crazy. Sh-she's so beautiful. But she's just my best friend. I don't know what to do!" I whispered panicked. Kelley put her hand on my shoulder.

"Hey calm down. She likes you, Lex. I'll tell you what, get Tobin to sleep with you tonight in your bed." She said. I was confused.

"What? How?" I asked.

"It's easy. Just say that you're scared from the movie or something like that. She'll fall for it, trust me." Kelley had a huge smirk on her face. I had to trust her, she's the one with the badass goalie girlfriend.

"Okay." I sighed. Kelley jumped up and down squealing.

"Hey you better not be stealing my girlfriend in there Morgan!" Hope yelled from the living room. I laughed.

"She's already falling for me Solo!" I yelled back chuckling.

"You're dead." Hope said laughing while walking in the kitchen with Tobin by her side.

"Alright. Well I think it's time for bed." Kelley said pointing at the time on the microwave.

"Yeah me too." Tobin said grabbing my arm, "Come on let's go to bed." I nodded and followed Tobin. She let go of my arm when we got to the stairs. As I was heading up, I turned around to see Kelley winking at me. Hope gave her a weird look and then looked at me. I pointed at Tobin. She got it immediately and smiled. I turned back as I got to the top, Tobin went straight to the bathroom and grabbed her brush. I followed her grabbing my brush, and did the same. I stood behind her as we brushed our hair in silence. But that silence was broken as I was hit in the head with Tobin's brush when she got a knot out of her hair.

"Oh my god I'm sorry! Are you okay!?" Tobin said trying not to laugh. She wrapped her arms around me waist hugging me and I hugged her back.

"Guys we haven't even sat down yet and you've already hurt each other!" Hope yelled from downstairs.

"It was an accident!" Tobin yelled back. I let go of her and felt the side of my forehead. There was blood.

"Tobin. I'm bleeding."I said softly.

"Oh god!" Tobin yelled, "Hope! Can you bring up the bandages from the cabinet?"

"You hurt her that bad? Wow Heath. Better make it up to her." Hope yelled jokingly.

She brought up the bandages along with Kelley. By now Tobin was holding a washcloth on my head and refused to let me hold it. She sat me down on the edge of the tub and carefully cleaned up the cut. Hope and Kelley watched smiling. Kelley winked at me again and I rolled my eyes.

"Alright. You're all cleaned up, beautiful." Tobin said. I looked up straight at her when she said beautiful, but she was turned around. Did she really just say that? I looked at Hope and Kelley who both had wide eyes. I motioned for them to go back downstairs.

"Alright well we're gonna go to bed. Goodnight." Kelley said grabbing Hope's hand leading her down the stairs. We both said goodnight to them and left the bathroom. Tobin and I went into our separate rooms. I started changing my clothes thinking about how I was gonna ask Tobin to come into my room and sleep with me when there was a sudden knock on my door. Without thinking about being half naked I yelled for them to come in. It was Tobin. She looked shocked staring at my body.

"Like what you see?" I giggled. She looked up and smiled.

"Well for one, yes. And, I was wondering, can I sleep in here tonight. That movie scared me." she said looking horrified. I nodded.

"Of course you can." She smiled.

"Okay, where do you want me to sleep?" Tobin asked innocently. I raised my eyebrows looking at her. She was confused.

"You're going to sleep with me in my bed." I finally said after a long silence. When I said that, her eyes lit up and her cheeks were red. Damn, she is so cute. I turned on the TV because we didn't want to go to bed quite yet. Plus, we were pretty scared. My bed was only a twin bed so it was hard at first to get both of us comfortable, but once we had settled, this had officially turned into the best night of my life. Thought then raced through my head. What if she doesn't even like me that way? Oh get over it, Kelley told you she did. But what if she's lying? What if she's trying to embarrass me or something? Nah, Kelley wouldn't do that, she's your best friend.

I moved my body a few times to make it more comfortable and Tobin did the same. There was some strange movie on the TV that we weren't really paying attention to, but it created a lot of noise. A few times it seemed oddly noisy to where I wanted to get up and change the channel, but I didn't want to disturb Tobin, who had by then resting her head on my chest. I had butterflies in my stomach as I looked down at her beautiful face. She looked so peaceful, like she was drifting off to sleep.
