Another Chance

Chapter 14

Dan's p.o.v:

"I need to talk to you." I pat the side of the bed, inviting Phil to sit with me. He takes the offer.

Okay. Breath Dan. Don't be nervous. He's just been for best friend for years, and you're pretty much asking if you can date his daughter.

"Dan, can you get on with it?" Phil stands up.

"Alright. Well I have to tell you that I... I am in.. Love." Phil freezes in shock, then laugh.

"Wow nice prank. I'll play along. Who are you in love with?" He laughs more.

"Emily..." I whisper.

"What? I'm sorry, I thought that I just heard you say your in love with my daughter." He then suddenly looks at me, and his smile fades.

"Out of all girls, you picked my child? You are something, you know?" He says poking my cheeks, "But if you love her, then go after her. It's true love right? Then make it true."

"I was afraid that you'd be angry. Please, just give me one chan- wait what?" I was suprised to what he had just said. Did he just accept us being together?

"Look Dan. Emily is my daughter and I have to protect her from getting hurt" he sighs, "But, I know you really well Dan. And I know that you won't hurt my child."

"Wait, so Emily and I can..?"

"Go out? Yeah I guess." He finishes, "But, I wanna be the third wheel. so I can ruin a romantic moment."

"Alright." I dash out of my room to Emily's.

I knock on her door, her saying to come in.

"Oh hey.So when are we goi-" I cut her off by kissing her passionatly. She kisses back and pulls away, "But my da-"

I cut her off again, "He said yes. Just not to break your heart."

She laughs, and kisses me.

Emily's p.o.v:

"Are you love birds done yet? We have some where to be you know." Phil laughs a little, and hugs me.

"You guys are really cute together. I glad that your happy Em." he whispers.

"Wow, when did you get all wise?"
"I don't know.... Ahhh I'm growing old!" Phil says, making us all laugh.

"Okay let's go. You ready?" Dan says, lacing our fingers together.
"Where are we going?" I ask.

Dan and Phil look at each other and nod.

"You'll see." Phil grabs a bag. Dad made last minute flight tickets I guess so, yeah. I honestly have no idea were we're going. It's excited.

Also Dan's my boyfriend now? I guess that happend. It's a little weird, but I'm glad. I love him a lot, and I haven't been in a relationship for a long time.
I get onto the plan, this time getting to sit next to Phil also.

"Yay. I don't have to sit next to the weird cat lady anymore." He freezes, "So many snowballs."

Dan and I laugh, "It's okay you're safe now child."

"Why are you calling me child? Your the youngest." I face palm and laugh.
"It's pretty much a habit. I call EVERYONE child. I even called my mom child, I'd call some stranger at the store child." I laugh a little and look down, "I have a child sickness!"
I yell, but not that loud. I laugh after relizing what I had just said.

"I'm a weirdo. Why do you guys even like me?" I laugh.

"Well..." They both say.

"Don't answer that."

The plane lands, and we exit, grabbing our carry ons.

"We are now landing In Sacromento California. Please exit the plane carefully" the voice on the speaker says.

"What?" My eyes widen, "Why are we here?"

This is the last place I wanted to me right now. I wanna leave right away.
"Phil and I thought that you would want to visit your friends and family." Dan grabs my hand.

"oh. Well thanks guys." I didn't mean it. They didn't know that I hated my family. My friends are my family.

"No problem. I knew that you would be happy." Phil hugs me, making Dan releasing my hand.

"Um, can I stop by my friends Jordans first. He's the most closest to me." I ask.

"Okay." Dan shruggs.

We exit the airport and call a cab, placing our things in the trunk.
I look at the cars we past, remembering traffic every week. I remember the buildings, and the old motels.
I tell the cab where to stop, and exit the cab with the guys. They tell the cab to wait there as we enter Jordan's drive way.

"It's okay. Your okay." Phil reasures me.

I nod, and ring the door bell.

The door swings open, and I see Jordan.

"Emily? I can't believe you're here." He smiles, then looks up to see Dan and Phil, "Is that?"

"Yep. Dude, I missed you so much." I hug him, and he hugs me back. I smile and laugh, "May we come in?"

"Oh, Of course." He moves out the way and introduces himself to the guys.

We hang out for a little in Jordan's room, playing fun board games like candy land, smart-ass, and ect.
We have some juice and popcorn, while watching Sword Art Online.
As I sit in the middle of Dan and Phil, Jordan taps my shoulder.
"Can we talk? It's important." He mouths.

I nod, and tell the guys that I'll be back.
We enter the kitchen and Jordan laughs.
"I can't beleive your friends with THE Dan and Phil. Lucky." I laugh also.
"Yeah, me either. Look I need to tell you something?"

Jordan suddenly pushes me up agaisnt the counter, and whispers "Me too" into my ear.
Chills run up my body, and I immediatly push him away.
"I can't." He pulls a puzzled look.

"I thought you loved me?" He steps closer.

"I have a boyfriend. I'm not like that. I'm not a cheating skank." I harshly say.
"Who? I could love you better." He pulls me close.

I push him hard. "Stop. I love my boyfriend and don't wish to lose him."
I hate being harsh, but if something happens, I have to say the four words. And it's not I love you too.

"Please. He's not worth it." Our foreheads are now touching. Our lips are suddenly 1 inch apart.
"I said stop!" I push and slap him, him falling to the ground, here they are. The four words.

"But-" he stutters.

"I don't love you. Not like this at least. We're friends, and THIS will never happen." I yell.

I stand there and tears start to form. I can't be like ghis either. I love Dan though, and Jordan's not gonna ruin my relationship.

I get on the ground and hug him.
"I'm sorry, about everything. About you're cancer, about me not loving you back. I did love you. But I saved this love for someone else." I get up and exit the kitchen, Dan and Phil up and ready to go.
"Goodbye Jordan. Please take care of yourself." I grab my purse and exit the front door.

Before I enter the taxi, Jordan comes running out of the house.
He hugs me and grabs my face. He places his lips on mine, but pull away fast.
"I'm sorry. I just needed too. Please forgi-" I stop him and slap him hard again.
He wimpers and falls to the ground.

"Don't ever call me again." I enter the cab and turn away from the window.
"Why did he kiss you?" Dan questions.

I sigh and laugh, "It meant nothing... Trust me."

He means nothing anymore.
