Brian was in a field in the country side. The sun poured down on him and he could smell the blooming of apples in the distance. He could not think of how he had come there but it was not the biggest concern
"Brian! Up here!" A woman's voice came from behind him, over a hill. He started to run towards her voice.
"Agh!" A scream erupted from the bottom of the hill almost immediately after reaching the top. "Brian!" He looked down the hill and saw the woman screaming. He ran down the hill but seemed to make no progress as the woman only seemed to get farther and farther away.
"Wait!" Brian yelled to her but it only made everything seem to go black. He felt a sharp pain in his wrist. "No! Come back!"
He shot up on the sofa and clenched his chest. His dream had his heart racing longer than most dreams had before but this time he also had a sharp pain in his wrist.
"Ulrich!" He forced himself to stand and looked into the dark. "Ulrich!" He yelled but no answer. "Where are you?" He felt for his wrist but all he felt was cool wetness and stinging pain. "What have you done to me?" He tumbled through his room and knocked into the few possesions he had.
Then something differant forced him to the ground. "What is happening?" He clenched his arm and felt a set of knives slide into his hip from the floor. He tried to see but the room had no light.
But a candle suddenly illuminated some of the room. Brian could see his tumbling hand torn apart the carpet and his blood stained into the wood. It was so quiet aside from the faint crackle of the candle.
Ulrich elegantly stepped into the dim light. He was rubbing his neck. Somehow he stood with more power than he did before. Amazing how a persons stance can change them so much.
"Brian I am truely sorry for what I've done to you. You were very kind but also very stupid to take me in. Honestly, what idiot would take a stranger into their house and not even sleep in a dofferent room? Well from my experiences it has either been whores or imbisials. Not that there is really anything you could do about it. You wouldn't know the rules at this age." Ulrich's voice seemed stronger than before. "I feel you are deserving of an answer to my deception." He sat across from Brian's bleeding body. "You see... I face a rare affliction. And my affliction requires me to do certain... odd things. While I was in fact freezing when you found me, that was not the cause of my deathly condition. You see I have slept in frozen lakes and the ether seeps through my soul the very same as it would if I were to sleep in the sun. Well... Perhaps the sun is not a great example of my comfort zone. Either way I you may call me... malnurished. You unfortunately are my sustinence..." He quickly lunged over Brian and exposed his fangs. "I'm sorry my friend. Don't resist and try to relax. I've heard its just like sleeping." Brian's pleas were muffled as the fangs set into his skin. He could feel his blood leave through voids in his skin and soon the vision of black night was fading and there was a growing nothingness that took hold of his entire being. His fragile life clawed frantically at every piece of flesh he could reach but it did nothing to deter his attacker. Every second that he spent hopeless felt like painful eternities. He was certain he was going to be consumed by his monsterous attacker.
