October 19, 2012:

The bastards won't leave me alone... For years they watch me in the night and I can't get them to leave. I scream at them when I see them staring at me. They don't ever seem to care though. But why me?! I just don't know... I doubt anyone else goes through this... Every few weeks or sometimes months someone stands at the edge of my room and just stares at me. No one believes me and I just stopped telling people because it just pushes them away... Heather... She listened for awhile and I thought she understood but she just left me... She said I was just too scary for her. She needed someone normal... Bitter words she loved to curse me with. I don't even care! No one cares! No one understands that what I see are real!

October 22, 2012:

School was terrible today... Heather told everyone about what I see at night. Now everyone thinks I'm crazy! I'm not crazy! She told everyone that she dumped me because she thought I was going crazy... Nine months and she spreads these rumors about me and betrays any trust I had... I recently learned that she and my former best friend have been doing things and are now dating... All because these FUCKING CREATURES! What can they possibly want from me? I just want to live a normal life but these things have to disturb me when I try to sleep! I wish they'de go away...

November 4, 2012:

I'm writing this under my bed because things have just become terrifying... One of them is here! In the house! They've always just watched me and terrified me from the constant staring but now they must have become sick of me... I opened the door out of the bathroom to go watch a movie but there was one! I've never seen one move! Always watching me! My parents are gone so we are the only ones here... I don't think I can survive a fight with it... I slammed the door in its face and took off to hide under my bed and I heard it smashing around in the bathroom in rage. Oh god... I can hear it coming towards my room again... Oh god... Heather I love you... I don't care what happened between us but I'm lost without you. I hope you can live a happy life without me... Dear god its in my room.... Mom, Dad I love you so much. Just know I'm in a better place.... Agh! Why couldn't any of you have believed me?!

The rest of the pages in the journal were totally incomprehensible. These three entries are the only things that I could tell for possitive that Edwin touched... It appears that a beast caught him... He's not the only one with stories like this either... I recently read through a text conversation with frieghtenly simililar traits... I needed to look more into his case... It's the freshest one and the only one that involved a highschool student.

I took the pages from the journal and put them in a plastic bag. I was sure the lab would be interrested in testing it for anything unusual. With that I combed back my hair and left his parents home. I avoided his parents because they would try to learn what I think. It's never good to let anyone know too much in these cases. They tend to blab to someone if they learn anything classified and then we need to get rid of them and this all takes time away from the investigation. I got into my car and headed back to the lab. Looking in the mirror I could see I had a wound growing on my neck. I needed something before it got out of hand so I pulled out my phone and called my hook up.

"Hello?" David picked up the phone.

"I need a bit. I've got everything but I'm leaking a little. It's Martin." I almost left out my name but he needs one.

"Ok man. I'll get some ready for when you wanna come by. See you soon." And with that he hung up the phone. I always liked that about David. He didn't like to talk too much. Just kept everything simple and that's how I needed it. My job as an inverstigator was very demanding and I didn't have any time to dick around with anything, and he knew that. It was a good trade on his end though. I would get what I needed and he wouldn't have to worry about anyone checking out his apartment.

It only took about ten minutes to get to his apartment. Perhaps he'd have heard something about Edwin. You'd be surprised what people will tell their drug dealers. I checked to see if I had all his money. I did. Always $400 for a three month dose. I know it sounds like a lot but I couldn't have myself reverting back to what I was. I was trying to form a life like everyone else and only with my doses could I do that. I walked into his appartment. He had the syringes all set up for me and was relaxing at his bar. For a drug dealer he really liked to keep his hideouts rather professional looking.

"Hey Martin. I see you haven't aged a day." He grinned. "You're welcome." He washed his hands and sat on the couch being sure his things were in order.

I sat on the couch across from him."Hey... Yeah I wish that were true. My neck is showing my age a bit." I pulled off my scarf to show him the mark on my neck.

He leaned in to look. "Fasinating... You know Martin. Lots of people would count themselves lucky to live forever." He said as he rolled up my sleave.

"I know. But I doubt they'd want the stipulations." I watched him inject my dose and I felt my neck begin to heal.

"Its not that bad. You pay me a few times a year and you get to live forever. I'd be very happy to have such a gift." He said. He always tried this on me... So desperate for me to share my curse with him.

"It's not all its worked up to be. Having to kill someone every full moon or aging all your years in a matter of days... Not to mention watching your loved ones turn to dust..." He finished up taking care of his things as I spoke.

"Well you don't have to kill anyone because of people like me so you know. It's not that bad." He sighed. "If you ever want to share your gift, you know where I am."

"Believe me. If I share this with anyone you'll know." I stood, ready to leave and started for the door when David said something.

"I've heard a bit about the boy. I know that's why you were in the area." He stood againt the wall.

I turned around. "What do you know?"

He pulled out some alchohol and poured himself a glass at his bar. "Edwin is his name right?" I nodded to him. "Alright. Well, my daughter use to date him you know? Last time she was over for the week she told me a little about him."

"What did she say about him?" I asked as he took a break to drink.

"The normal things girls say about their ex-boyfriends. The whole 'He's crazy', 'He tells me he sees strange people when he tries to sleep', and 'I don't feel safe around him'. Poor kid. Being different doesn't help with the ladies much." He finished with a final gulp from his drink.

Usually he was more informative but I suppose I couldn't expect any better from him. "I've heard... well thanks David. I should get going. I have to file some things at the office."

"See you around Marty." He cleaned up the bar and rinsed out his glass. "Oh! Wait there is something else you need to know. It's unrelated to the case but important."

I stood in the doorway. "What is it?"

He looked down at his glass. "Unfortunately... well... my connection in Africa. He can't send as much as quickly now. His cargo plane was raised last week and his transporter died trying to put out the fire. He's down to boating and as you know with boating he can't get as much shipped over here at a time and he needs to hire more protection..." I cut him off.

"Just tell me how much it's going to cost." I glared at him.

He sighed and put down the glass. "$2400... Per month..."

I shook my head in disapproval and I could tell he was scared.

"It wont be permanent I promise! I need to hire protection myself! I can't get it in bulk like I did before. I have other clients and there is no way I have enough for everyone. I want to live longer than the next full moon." He rubbed the back of his neck. "Martin, I'm telling you because I've known you for 20 years and I do count you among my friends. I don't want to charge you so much but this is the lowest I can go right now... I promise I'll get it back to normal as soon as I can."

I walked up to him and put my hand on his shoulder. "It's alright David. You have nothing to fear from me... Keep yourself safe." I patted his back and left his appartment.

I knew he would have enough problems without me to worry about. I could afford it for a couple years if I ate into my stock savings. Hopefully he could stay safe.
