You leaned back in your chair, listening to the music that flowed through your headphones. After your video call with Delson, Dylan had insisted that you took the desk from his room and put it into yours. You hated to take away one of his belongings, but he claimed he had no use for it.
"Y/n, can I come in?" You heard someone say beyond the music. You quickly paused the song and took out your headphones, jumping to your feet and opening your bedroom door. There stood Jorel, one of his hands stuffed into his left jean pocket while the other held onto a piece of lined paper. "The guys and I made this list of stuff we want you to do." He extended his arm, holding out the paper in front of him. You took the list with a small smile.
"Alright, is there any time limit on which you want me to complete these?" You questioned. He shook his head, putting his now free hand into his other pocket.
"There's a bunch of stuff on there, so take your time. I'll talk to the others and we'll probably check up on your at the end of the week or something." You nodded, your mind reflecting that this was the most relaxed job you have had and probably would ever have.
"Thank you, I promise I'll work my hardest." You softly said, trying to find a nice way to end the conversation. "See you tomorrow?" You quickly pursed your lips out of awkwardness while your mind quickly backlashed. Of course you'll see him tomorrow, he lives here you fuckstick. Meanwhile, Jorel only nodded.
"Yup. Night, y/n."
"Goodnight." You watched as he turned and walked away, allowing you to shut the door.
"Good job, y/n." You groaned to yourself, basically dragging your body over to the office chair and plopping down. "Why is communicating so stressful?"
You managed to do a few things like play some online games, check your social media, and watch YouTube videos until the feeling of boredom began to creep into your body. Your head dipped back as your analyzed the blank canvas above that was the ceiling. You sighed heavily, allowing your head to lull forward. Without realizing it, your eyes had landed on the piece of paper Jorel had given to you a few hours prior.
You picked up the list and skimmed over it, your vision straining as you tried to decipher the messy hand writing.
"Post on social media thanking people who showed up to last concert, make a list of possible venues for the Canada tour, buy four new mics..." You read quietly to yourself, deciding to start on those three first before worrying about the other items on the to do list. You opened up a new tab, pulling up the multiple sites the boys use and typing in the username along with the passcode they provided you with. As the sites loaded, you drummed your fingers to the beat pulsing through your headphones.
After searching through your imported photos, you found the correct pictures and posted to their social media accounts, adding captions that you best see fit.
Moments after you had hit the post buttons, the accounts began getting notifications from the photos you had just uploaded. A smile crossed your face at some of the comments before shaking your head, attempting to refocus yourself.
"Work now, comments later." You hummed, moving on to the next task.
xXx
A soft knock woke you up from your slumber, causing you to groggily look around the room. At some point, you had managed to complete the do to list you were given and fell asleep at your desk.
"Y/n, you awake? Breakfast is on the kitchen table!" Jordon called, knocking more heavily this time.
"Oh, uh yeah." You quickly answered, snapping yourself into reality. "I'll be out in a second." After hearing his footsteps disappear down the hallway, you began to stand up from your chair and find an outfit to wear. You managed to find a slightly oversized teeshirt and partnered it with sweatpants before making your way to the kitchen.
"Oh, look. She's alive." Dylan commented, watching as you placed yourself down at the kitchen table.
"Sorry if I overslept." You flashed a nervous smile, and took the plate filled with food that George was offering you. "Thank you."
"Don't worry, you're fine." The butterfly loving man smiled before continuing to eat his own meal. The seven of you overlapped in silence before Danny spoke up.
"I saw you posted the photos from the last concert, so I'm guessing you started on the list." A yawn broke from your lips almost as if on cue.
"Yeah, I actually, um, finished it." You answered quite meekly, knowing well there was more than fifteen tasks on the paper. Dylan held back a cough as he almost spat out his orange juice from shock. Your eyebrows knotted together at his reaction before noticed all the boys seemed to be shocked by your progress.
"I handed them to you around ten, didn't I? When did you go to bed?" Jorel questioned. Your eyes gazed upwards, as if the answer was scrawled out upon the ceiling. In reality, you were trying to recall the brief moment you looked at the clock before passing out.
"Five a.m.?" The answer came out more of a question that you would have wished. "I may have fallen asleep on my desk." At this time, Matty looked at his phone.
"That was only two hours ago." You craned your neck to see the clock behind you.
"Oh, I guess it was. Huh." The six males looked at each other with a shared look of concern, silently agreeing with each other.
"Y/n, please get some sleep once you finish eating." George sighed. You shook you're head frantically.
"Oh, no I'll be fine." Despite saying this, it was obvious you were beyond tired.
"We're going to our recording studio to work on some stuff today and legit had nothing but the list for you to do so you're not going to be missing out on anything." Danny explained, scooping some cereal onto his spoon. You pondered his words for a second.
"Are you guys sure?" Once you received reassuring nods, you decided to get more sleep while you could.
Once you had completed your breakfast, you excused yourself from the table and began to make your way to your room.
"And sleep in an actual bed this time!" Jordon called out to you. You only rolled your eyes at his comment and slipped into your room, allowing the cream colored walls to put you into a relaxing mood. Without a second thought, you slipped under your covers and shut your eyes, a smile gracing your lips ever so slightly.
"This is going to be an interesting job..."
