You rubbed your eyes, your vision still slightly blurry from just waking up. Once it adjusted, you looked over to the clock that sat upon your nightstand. With a start, you threw the covers off of your body and stood up.
"Fuck," You groaned. "two in the afternoon?" Not only did you sleep through the plans you had to get coffee with George this morning, but you also were behind on finishing that spreadsheet. You quickly moved towards your desk in order to grab your laptop, but immediately paused when you noticed it was nowhere to be found. Your nose scrunched up from confusion before memories from last night flooded your brain. You had completely forgotten that Jordon had confiscated it.
After you slipped on a pair of pants under your large shirt, you made your way out of the bedroom. You walked down the hallway and were just about to knock upon Jordon's door when you heard his voice, accompanied by some music, come from the living room.
"Dude, that melody sounded tight."
You entered the living room to find all six men sprawled around the room. Both he and Jorel both had their guitars on their laps. Meanwhile, Danny quickly wrote something down on his phone. You stood there for a second, listening to the way Jorel softly plucked the strings of his guitar. It only took Jordon one second later to notice you.
"Morning, workaholic." He slightly laughed as he rested the guitar on his lap. One by one, their attention seemed to turn to you. You waved slightly at the group, your eyes naturally skimming past George out of embarrassment. You made a mental note to apologize for sleeping through your cafe plan.
"Jordon, can I have my laptop back?" You asked. This caused some of the men to look at their band mate in confusion.
"What is she, twelve?" Dylan chuckled.
"Why do you have her laptop?" Jorel questioned. You immediately caught the eye of Jordon, silently pleading that he won't tell the others that you had stayed up. When he opened his mouth, a faint spark of hope ignited inside of you. Well, until he started to speak.
"I woke up around four to get a drink of water and found y/n still working on that spreadsheet. I took her laptop and told her to go to bed."
"What?" The sound of Jorel, Matty, and Danny all saying this together made you jump slightly.
"Didn't you say you were almost done when I left for bed?" Dylan asked. You awkwardly shifted your feet.
"I was!" You quickly defended yourself. "I just got caught up in working on it."
"She's been staying up late since we hired her." Jordon decided to throw you under the bus, presenting more information than he really needed to. You blinked, staring at him for a second with a look of disbelief on your face.
"Jordon!"
"What? It's true!" Jordon held his hands up.
"Excuse me, what?" Matty asked. He lent forward on the couch, forearms resting on his knees. Increasingly aware of the way the other five males were looking at you, you ran a hand through your hair.
"Okay, yeah. I have." You admitted as your shoulders slumped slightly.
Jorel and George looked at each other, a silent conversation happening between them before Jorel sighed.
"You're off for the rest of the day."
"But-" You started Danny cut in.
"No buts, (y/n). Staying up like that all the time isn't healthy."
"Yeah," Dylan's low voice hummed as he threw an arm over the back of the couch behind Danny. "We can't have ya passing out on us."
"You're taking the day off," George grunted, his tone leaving no room for protest as he pushed himself out of the armchair he was in. "And you also owe me a coffee. C'mon." He made his way towards the front door of the apartment, passing you as he did so.
You stood there for a second, his words processing before you moved to follow him.
"Told you it wasn't healthy," Jordon quipped, earning him a short lived glare from over your shoulder.
George grabbed his keys out of the small bowl near the door, shoving them into the pocket of his jeans. He held the door open for you. "They're, y'know." He muttered, voice low enough only for you to hear as you passed. "Not healthy. Not gonna get on your ass about it, though. Just think 'bout it."
You hesitated for a split second before slipping out of the open door.

"We have that Anaheim concert next week," George brought up once the two of you sat outside the cafe. He had gotten a black coffee, looking over the rim to shoot you a glance.
"House of Blues, right?" You asked after taking a sip of your chosen drink.
George nodded, adjusting his beanie. "Your first official show on the roster. You nervous?"
You honestly hadn't really thought about it until now. "Wasn't until you mentioned it. Thanks, George." Despite your comment, there was a smile on your face.
He scoffed and took another sip of his drink. "Welcome. Shouldn't be too hard. All you gotta do is just make sure the rider's right at the green room and take a few photos. Maybe make sure Dylan doesn't try to bring vodka shots out on stage."
"Make sure he doesn't do what?"
George let out a chuckle at your reaction. "If you think that's bad, wait until tour. Only gets worse. Trust me." After a minute, he shifted in his chair, settling down further into it. "You'll be fine. You're you." The compliment barely had a second to breathe before he changed the topic. "You get that shit Danny emailed?"
Your eyebrows furrowed as you tried to adjust to the topic whiplash, his words bouncing around in your skull before you nodded. "Yeah. He wants to get a new set of in-ears."
"Yeah. Jordon sat on them." He said it with a dry monotone delivery that was so George you had to laugh.
"I'm not even surprised anymore."
"See? You're learning." He led up his coffee in a mock toast and finished it with a grin.

The green room of House of Blues felt more like a frat party pre-gaming and less like a functional workspace of six musicians. A Bluetooth speaker sat in the corner by the mask rack, blasting 90s West Coast hip hop, most likely from Dylan's playlist. Jordon and Jorel had already set up a game of pong while Matty judged Jordon's shots from the couch.
The rider, thankfully, had been correct. A fully stocked bar, enough snacks that Dylan had audibly yelled "fuck yeah" upon entering the room, and the exact brand of water Danny requested.
"See? Told you it would be fine." George caught your eye from where he was tuning his bass in one of the folding chairs.
"You say that like she was worried," Dylan quipped as he stuffed a fistful of trail mix into his mouth. He chewed before pausing, looking over at you. "Wait, you weren't worried, right?"
You opened your mouth to reply, but Jordon started instead. "She was for sure worried. Did you see her on the way here? She went over her emails, like twenty ti-" He cut himself off when Jorel sunk a ball directly into one of his cups. "Oh come on, J. You fuckin' serious? You're cheating. Somehow. Don't know how. But somehow."
"You're the one who wanted to play," Jorel shrugged, voice dry as he nodded his head to the cup.
"Drink up, Charles." Matty hummed as he leaned back into the couch. Dylan ambled over and flopped down into the spot next to him, silently offering the curly haired man an M&M from the mix.
"I was not nervous-" You started, but Jordon talked over you once more.
"Was too," Jordon coughed into the cup before knocking it back. You casted him a half-hearted glare.
"I was just trying to be prepared."
"Which, we appreciate. Right, guys?" Danny took a sip of his water, his eyes skimming over the group. A chorus of different versions of agreement greeted him. He leaned on the wall behind him. "You're going to be taking pictures through the set, right, y/n?"
"Yeah." You nodded, trying not to laugh as Jorel managed to sink yet another ball.
"Make sure you get my good side, sweetheart." Dylan flashed you a wink.
Jordon rolled his eyes. "You don't have a good side. You're ugly on both."
"That's not what your mom said last night, bro." Dylan responded without even waiting a beat. Jordon, who was just about to take his shot, narrowed his eyes and turned. He threw the ping pong ball, hitting Dylan directly in their forehead. Dylan blinked and pushed himself off of the couch, handing the trail mix to Matty for safe keeping. "Oh, you're so dead, short stack."
"Can you wait until after the set to kill him?" Jorel asked. He crossed his arms over his chest as he watched Dylan lunge towards Jordon, who let out a staggered sound and dove away.
"Yeah, he need him." Danny responded, amusement evident in his voice. "Sadly."
"Could always cover his parts," George replied casually, not even looking up from his instrument.
Jordon scoffed as he crossed the room. "You're all assholes," He quickly slid behind you as Dylan approached.
"Jordon, really?" You rolled your eyes.
"Using the PA is such a pussy move," Dylan grunted, sliding to a stop right in front of you to avoid a collision.
"You say that like you're surprised." Matty commented, popping the trail mix Dylan had handed over to him into the mouth.
"Y/n, save me." Jordon ignored his band mates and pushed you forward playfully.
"You regretting saying yes to that job offer yet?" George asked, making you laugh slightly.
    You weren't. Not at all.
