Mal's POV
The leaves crunched under my feet. The fall air swept into my nose as I walked down the road. It was the day before Thanksgiving, and I decided to visit my parents' grave. I trekked the grass with flowers in my hand until I reached their graves. Noticing how beautiful the graves looked, a tear rolled down my cheek.
"Hey Mom, hey dad. I know I haven't seen you in a while. I'm sorry for that. So much had been going on. I was 'let go' from Studio C. It made sense because they were bankrupt, but I'm totally regretting just leaving and not fighting. Matt confessed he loved me. A-and I loved him too. But he decided to start over with his ex-wife, well I guess wife now. I thought that was smart to do, but I still can't let go of him. Help me? I'm not sure if you are hearing this or not, but I think I'm stuck and I really really need some help. Thanks, I love you guys," I poured out.
I looked at their graves one last time. I missed them so much. Then, I had to go to Studio C to return my entrance card. . As soon as I stepped down from my car, I saw Matt. Not knowing what to do, I quickly put my head down and walked as far as possible.
"Mal?" Matt asked.
Shoot.
"Hey Matt.." I said.
"What are you doing here?"
"Uh... I forgot something here.."
"What's that?" He asked.
Great, now I have to think of something, "My... Chihuahua."
"Chihuahua?" Matt questioned.
"Uh.. yeah... it's my lucky stuffed chihuahua," I replied.
"Ok... well do you need me to let you in?" He asked.
"No, it's fine. I still have my card, which I do need to return."
After having that awkward chat, I walked into the Studios. I kept my head down to make sure no one noticed me. I saw in Studio C1 that Whitney was filming "Creepy Ghost Writer". I was supposed to be in that sketch, but Whitney replaced me. I walked around to try to find Jared.
"Mal? Is that you?" I heard Stacey asked.
"Yep it's me," I said.
"We miss you here. I hope you come back."
"Oh. Me too," I replied.
"So what are you doing here?"
"I need to return my entrance card," I answered.
"Oh, ok. Well Jared is in his office. Happy Thanksgiving!" Stacey said.
"Thanks and you too," I said with a smile.
I headed to Jared's office and knocked on the door.
"Come in!" I heard Jared say.
I entered. Nothing looked changed.
"Um.. hi. I'm here to return my entrance card," I said.
"Well Mal, you can keep it," Jared said.
"What? Why?" I asked.
"Because you are getting your job back. GE bought us, and we are going to be out of bankruptcy," Jared said.
"What? Oh my gosh, this is amazing!" I yelled.
"You can come back tomorrow," Jared said, flashing me a smile.
I smiled back, and went to tell everyone. I was so excited. I told everyone who was there, except Matt. I couldn't seem to find him. But then I realized I have to tell Devon.
"Hey Mal, you should come to our Thanksgiving dinner. We were going to invite you anyways, but since you're here, I could just tell you now," James said as I was heading out the door.
"Okay," I said, giving him a smile.
I headed to my car and drove to CVS. I walked in to notice that Devon wasn't behind the counter.
"Where's Devon?" I asked the lady behind the counter.
"Oh, he's in the hospital," she said.
"What?" I yelled.
I ran out of CVS, rushing to the hospital. I walked to the front desk to ask where Devon was. Once I entered his room, I saw he had a chest tube and an IV in his arm.
"Devon!" I yelled, running towards him, "What happened?"
"Nothing much, just fainted because I didn't have enough red blood cells," Devon said.
"What? Devo-"
"I'm okay Mal," Devon responded.
"Did they find out why you have anemia?" I asked.
"No, they're still running tests."
Then, the doctor walked in.
"Hi, I'm Dr. Kelly. We ran some more tests. Turns out its gastritis, which is basically the inflammation of the stomach. It looks like it's been there a while, and hasn't been treated for 4 months. Any more time, you would've died. We started you with anti-inflammatory medicine, which should help. I'm putting you in bed rest until you get better. Make sure your wife takes care of you," the doctor said.
"Oh, I'm not his wife," I said.
"Girlfriend?" The doctor asked.
"No, just a friend," I said.
"Oh, ok. Well feel better soon Devon."
Devon looked up at me," I thought it was just a stomachache."
"For 4 months?" I asked.
"Yeah..."
I laughed,"Devon, there's something I have to tell you. I got hired back at Studio C, so I can't work at CVS."
It looked like all the color was drained out of his already color drained face.
"Congrats Mal! It's okay, I can manage on my own," Devon said.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes," Devon said with a look of sadness.
"Okay, but I'm still coming to check up on you at your house. Hey, do you want to come to our Thanksgiving dinner?" I asked.
"Oh, no that's okay I've got plans. Happy Thanksgiving Mal," Devon replied, showing a smile.
Regret was pouring through my body like it was flooding my systems. I couldn't decide what was better, being in CVS or Studio C. At that moment, I decided I wasn't going to go back to that CVS. I would only push myself into more regret. I tried calling Devon, but he wouldn't pick up. So, I left a message apologizing and asking for forgiveness. I just made a big mistake, didn't I?

Matt's POVIt was the day of Thanksgiving. My heart fluttered when I heard Mal was coming to the party, but I pushed those aside.
"Matt? You coming?" I heard Cristina say.
"Yeah, just let me get ready," I responded.
I looked in the mirror. My hair was sleek with gel. I wore a causal T-shirt and jeans.
"Let's go Matt!" I heard Cristina yell.
"Coming!" I replied.
It took around 20 minutes to get to James' home. When I stepped inside, I smelled a strong flavor of cranberries and turkey. Then, I saw Mal enter the home. She was wearing a beautiful red dress that went down to her ankles. Her makeup was gorgeous, and she carried this elegant red purse. This is going to one long night.
