3. I Want The Sky

I was hiding in a tree as he walked under the branch. Then I jumped in front of him.

"Whoa,weren't you like back there?"he asked

"One of the perks of being a vampire,speed and increased strength,and the humanity switch."I said

"Wait you have a switch?"he asked

"It's a mental one,vampires can turn it off but it's hard to turn back on."I answered

"Did you-wait how old are you?"he asked

"I'm eighteen. I have only been a vampire for like a year."I answered

"And the things that kill you are,holy water,crucifixes and garlic and stakes."he said

"Um,the last one is true but it's the sun and vervain."I said

"I didn't even think of that one,like I am a werewolf for crying out loud."he chuckled

"And werewolf bites kill vampires,according to legend."I added

"Can you sleep?Can you eat anything besides blood?"he asked

"Yes,I actually can eat normal food when there's enough blood in my system."I answered

"Well you said that ring can allow you to walk in the sun?"he asked,pointing to my ring

"Yea. Stefan gave it to me the day I turned."I sighed

"Sucks you couldn't get rid of it."He said

"Well,yea."I laughed

"How does a person turn?"he asked

"If you die with vampire blood in your system. Than to complete the transition,you have to feed."I answered

As we walked,I saw a deer.

"Don't kill it."he chuckled

"Whatever!I drink blood bags."I laughed

His eyes met mine.

"You know Elena,there's actually a formal coming up if you'd go with me."He announced

"Why not."I smiled

He grinned.

"So when is it?"I asked

"In three weeks."He answered

"Well,I think it'd be great."I smiled

"You are really pretty,so anything would look good on you."he said,as he flushed red

"Thanks."I smirk

Quiet filled the air between us.

"Well,I wanna show you something."I sighed

I dragged him to a cliff,overlooking the water below.

"Wanna cliff dive?"I asked him

"Uh,um.."

"You heal quick,right?"I asked

"Yeah but-"

I left our phones in my bag and I slipped off my shoes and I jumped.

"Come on!"I yelled

"I'm coming!"he yelled

He took off his jacket and he jumped.

"Isn't cool?"I asked him

"It's pure adrenaline."He answered

I used my speed to swim. And as soon as we got back up,I heard leaves crunch behind us,then something was shot,I turned around and caught the arrow.

I see a man with a crossbow.

"Your not human,are you?"he asked

"No I'm a 'My Little Pony'."I said sarcastically

I hissed with the veins,rising from my eyes as all I can see was red. The stupid man,tripped backwards and off the cliff.

"That's what you look like?When your a vampire?"asked Scott

I nodded.

"Scott,I can't get rid of who I am,I had that chance,someone took it from me."I sighed

"Who?"he asked

"My look-alike Katherine,but she died,so.."

"Now,your stuck like this?"he asked

"Yes Scott,when you get old and have a family,I'll always be eighteen,I can't have kids,I can't keep going to high school,I can't stay in one place for so long."I answered

He kicked the dirt.

"Understand,I can never fall for you because,I'm stuck forever young,I have to live forever and watch all the people,I love die."I added

"What do you mean,you can only stay in a place for so long?"He asked

"Meaning,that soon I'll have too abandon Jeremy and take off to Rome or whatever."I sighed

"Meaning,I'll never see you again?"

I nodded.
