My Struggles

So I had received a letter from the principal stating that I had won an award in the academics and cultural prize giving. I was overjoyed by this. So one day they announced a practice for the award winners in the PAC/hall. So what happened was they called out the names in order of awards but did not state what award you were getting, so when your name was called out you stood up, made your way to the principal, shook hands (and corrected him if needed) then you would be assigned a seat. The names were being called out some being repeated and I was listening closely when I heard something along the lines of tah-len bee-uh-kees. I was thinking who in the world is that? I've never heard that name before. Then it hit me. That was my name. He had pronounced it so incorrectly I could not even recognize it. I Got up laughing and face-palming at the same time and walked up to the principal. He asked "did I pronounce that correctly?" and as I went past the deputy principal she said "Judging by her reaction, I think you were way off" and she was right. After literally five minutes of repeatedly saying my name slowly he finally got it right and wrote it down. I locked eyes with a friend of mine who was red faced trying not to laugh and we both laughed. When I sat down I was still laughing. When I met up with my friends again we laughed about it and all hoped he would pronounce it correctly at the real thing. I was confident he would pronounce it right because he had written it down. When the prize giving came I go the top of team award in writing which I was really proud of. I ended up having a great night and enjoyed myself. And no he did not pronounce my name correctly.
