Phoenix and I stood side stage as the boys started the concert. I relaxed as the first notes rang through the stadium. The boys kicked off with Public Service Announcement first, getting everyone pumped for the night. Phoenix and I sang alone to the song, knowing every word. Public Service Announcement finished and the screams from the crowd were deafening. Alan walked to our side of the stage, throwing me a wink as he went. I blushed at the gesture and Phoenix shoved me teasingly. Songs flew by and it seemed as everyone in the stadium was having fun. The boys had so much energy, bouncing around the stage.
"Alan is so showing off tonight," Phoenix teases.
"Stop," I whine, turning away to hide my blush.
She laughs before turning back to continue watching the show. I turn my attention back to the stage where they were performing You Make Me Sick. The song finished with a bang and everyone cheers loudly. I could see Austin standing proudly on one of the boxes at the front of the stage, his arm spread wide, a huge grin covering his face. I felt a tap on my shoulder so I turned to see one of the stage hands, holding a microphone out to me. I smile and take it from him.
"I got a surprise for all of you," Austin yells, causing the crowd to scream again. "Everyone knows my little cousin, Ember, right? Well she's here tonight and I want her to come onstage and sing a few songs with us."
Well I didn't know that I was singing multiple songs, I thought.
Austin gestures for me to come onstage so I walk on, stepping onto the box with his. The crowd are screaming loudly as we stood there.
"Who's ready to rock this fucking place?" I scream.
The boys kick of with the song we originally decided on, Second and Sebring.
"I believe it's time for me to be famous and out of place," I sang. "I believe its time for me to move for forward, when I break through. When I break through. When I break through."
I jumped up and down as Austin starts screaming. I ran over to Alan on the left side of the stage.
"Proud to see me over, come on daylight."
Austin screams, "Proud of, who you raised."
I grin and continue, "Your shelter, your peacefulness."
Austin screams before the breakdown. I stood by Allan and we all jumped with the breakdown. I couldn't help but grin. The feeling of being on stage was something that felt right. Austin continued after the breakdown, crouching on the edge of the stage as he screams. I mouth the lyrics as I jump around the stage. We all start headbanging as Austin holds out his note. I jumped onto the box in front of Alan and mouthed the lyrics, doing some arm gestures with it.
"Sing this as loud as you can," Austin yells.
I lift the microphone to my mouth, "This is not what it is, only baby scars. I need your love like a boy needs his mother's side."
Austin grins, "Sing it!"
"This is not," I sing, holding the microphone to the crowd, letting them finish the line for me. "I need your love like a boy need his mother's side."
Austin steps onto the middle box, "Perth, sing it so the whole fucking world can hear you! Sing it as loud as you can!"
I join Austin on the middle box, "This is not what it is, only baby scars. I need your love like a boy needs his mother's side."
Austin grabs my hands and holds it tightly as we sing together. Alan then comes and plays right by my side. I smile and wipe away the tears running down my cheek. My Dad and Austin's mum were siblings, twins to be exact. It was hard when Aunt Pam passed away it took a toll on my Dad. He wasn't the same after.
"How good is Of Mice & Men tonight?" I yell as the screams die down.
The crowd erupts into screams again and I grin, nodding in agreement.
"This fucking band, right here, has saved my life so many fucking times," I shout, point my finger back to the band. "My cousin is my fucking hero!"
Austin grins and wraps his arms around me, resting his head on my head, "This fucking girl. Holy shit. I couldn't be prouder of her. She has gone through so much bullshit which she never deserved. I want Phoenix to come on stage as well for this."
Nix walks on stage and stands with Aaron, leaning against him, his arm wrapped around her shoulders.
"These two girls on stage with us are the most amazing girls we all have ever met. It's been so good to see you both again. We going to have them on stage for the next song, the next song is called Bones Exposed."
Tino kicks off the song, the drums echoing through the stadium. I got off the box and went over to Alan. He wasn't playing yet so he wrapped his arms around me and kissed my temple.
"A cut cannot heal," Austin sings.
"Unless you leave it alone," I join in.
"So I open my daily," Austin screams.
"Leaving bones exposed," Phoenix, Austin and I scream together.
We all start head banging as the guitar starts. I hang by Alan while Phoenix hangs by Aaron who is beside us. Phoenix and I step onto the box, headbanging together.
"If I say I wouldn't be hostile, could you say you would do the same? If we're all made just a little bit broken, tell me who is to blame, tell me who is to blame!" Both Nix and I sing.
The rest of the song was going great! Phoenix and I got ready to sing our last bit. I was beside Alan and Nix was beside Aaron.
"If I say I wouldn't be hostile, could you say you would do the same? If we're all made just a little bit broken, tell me who is to blame, tell me who is to blame!"
Austin screams his last lines before the band finished. I was wrapped in Alan's arms.
"Thank you Perth!" I scream.
I kiss Alan on the cheek before running to hug Austin as a thanks. The boys continued with the show as we got off stage. The boys finished with Would You Still Be There and You're Not Alone as there encore. The lights dimmed after the boys threw their picks and things into the crowd and they came running back side stage. One band down, one to go.
