Liam's P.O.V
I didn't sleep a wink, my eyes glued on the road as I was in the backseat of a car. I didn't think that going undercover would be this horrifying. Right now I'm only alive because of the girl.
I looked at the back of her head, as she was leaning on the window on the passenger side. I saw her long brown locks. I quickly look at the man driving, they both looked really young. I would definitely think they weren't a day over twenty.
I heard the car break suddenly, and Sting took of his seatbelt and jumped out of the car. I looked up to see him opening the backseat and pushing me onto the concrete floor. I felt my head spinning as I looked up and saw him standing over me.
"Name"
"Liam" I said, instantly regretting saying my real name, jeez what was I thinking.
"Liam" he said my name as if it was foreign, he walked passed me.
I heard a door slam my eyes landed on the girl I saved at the club, the red dress she was wearing hugged her body tightly showing her curves.
She held out her hand and I grabbed it, standing up. I saw Sting walk into the woods and my heart rate increases rapidly, I don't have a weapon on me. I don't have a wire. Theirs no backup.
"Come on, he doesn't like to wait" the girl says pulling my arm, we both run into the woods following closely behind.
I looked around not being able to see anything I reached for my iPhone and put the flash on, the girl turned around with a smile on her face.
"Good god, do you want to get yourself killed?"
I quickly put my phone away, not knowing where I was going. She stopped and I accidentally bumped into her back. My eyes land on a cottage house.
They started to walk and i followed them, they walked in the small cabin as did I, they were aware of the many eyes on on them, it was a small family, The father had receding blonde hair and a pointed chin, the mother a tangle of brown curls. The man's son, who walked with his hand clasped tightly to his mother's, looked almost exactly like his father, apart from the softer features he had clearly inherited from his mother. After a few seconds had passed of i was standing behind the girl watching curiously.
"What are they doing here?" The mother asked, reaching for her husband's hand almost unconsciously, as it was a clear source of comfort for her.
"I don't know," he admitted, squeezing her hand, "but they've got some nerve showing their faces around here after nearly one year."
I stared back at the little family, confused. To him they looked like a perfectly ordinary family. The little boy had gotten scared and was dragging his mother back, as his father shook his head and laughed, following the pair of them. Within seconds, the little family.
"You remember us Patrick, that's great." Sting spoke confidently, you could tell he was used to being the authority figure.
I heard footsteps behind me, quickly turning around to see three gas masked men behind me, walking in casually. I turned around to see the little boy in tears as he looked up at them. The mother shields his eyes as he hid his face into her leg.
As a police officer I felt like jumping out and protecting them, it was my duty. To protect and serve. But right now I don't have my badge. I don't have my gun. And I sure as hell don't have backup.
"I let you live once before, you were a friend of my uncles."
"Antonio Carson wasn't my friend okay. You should leave my family out of this, please just leave them be and-"
