Dominique

"How was the date with Ethan?" Natasha asked as she was doing an assignment.

"Great," I said under my breath & looked at my textbooks.

"Doesn't sound great," she sulked as she took off her glasses.

"He asked about my family & then I had to leave because it was time," I closed my eyes & sighed.

"I'm sorry Dom. But why couldn't you just ditch that literature group for one night with Ethan?" she asked.

"I've already missed a week," I stood up & took my book.

"Agh c'mon Dominique," she groaned.

"You don't understand," I sighed & walked out of the room. I decided to go to the park & sit in the bench & read.

"Hey," I heard a voice from behind me. I turned around to see Ethan, holding some textbooks & a Macbook.

"Hey, I'm sorry about last night. I had some commitments that I couldn't get out of," I apologised & looked down to read my book.

"It's okay. What was it?" he asked as he sat down on the bench & slid next to me.

"I'm working on a novel series with a few students in my class," I nodded & kept reading.

"That sounds amazing. You should give it to me when you're done," he smiled & crept his hand towards mine.

"I got something for you. Just because I thought you weren't okay," he smiled & stood up & walked away. He came back with a book & a red ribbon around it.

"I just thought you'd like it since you said you like poetry so I bought it for you," he smiled & gave it to me. I looked at the title.

Milk & Honey by Rupi Kaur.

"I've heard about her poems. They're so meaningful yet so simple," I looked at him, "thank you," I smiled & hugged him tightly.

"Anything for you baby girl," he smirked & put his palms on my ass.

"Ethan," I slowly shook my head.

"Sorry," he backed away & put up his hands, "so how about another date?" he smiled & shrugged. I looked down & blushed.

"You look so beautiful when you're happy. I wanna make you happy," he held my hand softly & massaged it.

"Okay fine," I looked up & laughed, "one more but you gotta understand I have other commitments."

"No that's great," he smiled,

"Later?" he asked.

"Yeah," I nodded.

"Come to my dorm room. We'll chill there," he winked at me & walked away as I sat back down on the bench & opened the book he gave me. I started smiling for both the poems & him.
