HERMIONE'S POV:
It was my third year at Hogwarts, however I had over three near death experiences too. I was waiting patiently in a carriage for my two foolish best friends, Ronald Weasley and Harry Potter. You'd think I was shocked to be friends with Harry Potter, and believe me I was. But apart from the constant threat of death from Lord Voldemort, he was a very normal boy. As far as normal goes in the wizarding world. It was so difficult to describe Harry Potter. He was both normal and extraordinarily special too. My thoughts were interrupted as a confident dark figure stood, leaning on the door frame of my carriage.
"Draco!" I beamed at him, swiftly moving from my seat and into his arms.
"Hey Granger. I missed you in the holidays." My head was pressed to his chest, but I could practically hear the smile in his voice.
"Why didn't you message me? Or send me a letter?" He sounded firmer now. I reluctantly removed myself from the warm embrace of his arms.
"I.. I'm sorry. I've been really busy studying and stuff." I ran a hand through my hair.
"Hmph." Draco crossed his arms. He had always been quite persistent in making sure we stayed in contact, he seemed both disappointed and concerned.
"I wasn't ignoring you." I quickly explained, practically reading his mind. His expression softened.
"It's okay. Hey I-" Draco begin to talk until he looked up the carriages, his face dropping.
"I better get going." Draco spoke hushed and began to walk away swiftly, but managing to turn around and give me a quick smirk and wink in his own special charming way.Suddenly Ron and Harry were making their way into the carriage. Harry begins to put the suitcases above us whilst Ron takes his seat and frowns at me.
"Why was Malfoy here a moment ago?" He muttered suspiciously to me. Harry glanced over whilst struggling to put his suitcase up and keeping it there, urging me to answer.
"Uh-" I began. My thoughts were racing. Excuses and lies were my speciality when it came to Draco now.
"Just.. Being the same insufferable, vile little roach he always is." I laughed weakly, looking down at my book. Ron didn't look convinced, but he shrugged anyway. Harry sat down beside Ron and they began to discuss whatever boys discuss on train journeys to their school of magic nowadays. I looked down at my book, not really reading it, simply skimming the words, my mind racing about Draco and how long we could keep our friendship a secret for.
