"Ava," Leo addressed.
I looked at them back and forth in between their intense stares. Ava suddenly looked at me and smiled lightly. "Scar, I'll see you later okay? I have to go."
"Yeah okay sure." I frowned. Then I turned my attention to Leo. He was still following Ava's gaze. I cleared my throat awkwardly. Looks like there's a lot of unresolved issues between them.
Leo quickly snapped his head back to me sighing deeply and rolling his eyes to the back of his head.
"What's up with that?" I asked even though I kind of already knew. "I thought you two were friends?"
"Forget about it and come on. I've been waiting for my grill cheese sandwich all day." Leo said quickly changing the subject. He lightly pulled me toward the cafeteria. Stopping at a table filled with different looking teens, there were five of them to be exact.
"Hello everybody, this is Scarlett but you can call her Scar!" Leo yelled making a big scene and I laughed in response. All of their heads snapped towards my direction. Friendly smiles speeding across their faces. Leo turned back to me smiling, "Okay Scar there is a lot of us so this might be hard to remember." He first pointed to Alex first. I hadn't even noticed that he was even there. For some reason he seemed off to me. My thoughts went back to the day where he had told me to stay away from Jace. How did he even know who I was?
Alex's tan face soften a little once his brown eyes met mine. He sighed and ran his hand through his brown hair. Next was a blonde haired girl named Cassidy with lots of freckles. "Hey call me Cassie!" She said as she gave me the biggest smile. Leo then turned to a long brown haired girl with emerald green eyes named Isabella but Bella for short. Next to her was a blonde haired boy who I knew to be Blake. He had blue eyes, and looked a lot like Jace. Lastly, Leo introduced me to Zoey her skin warm brown. She had long black hair, and I remembered her from my science class.
Once everybody said there hello's and hi's Leo pulled me to sit right beside him which resulted in me sitting behind Alex as well. A few moments later everyone fell into conversation. I listened to Cassie, Zoey, and Blake talk eagerly about their creepy English teacher Mr. Woods. To be honest, I understood where they were coming from. Even his name sounded creepy.
"I see the new girl or whatever she is, has taken my spot." I heard a high pitched voice say from behind me. I turned around to see a tall red headed girl with beautiful hazel eyes to top it all off. A rare but beautiful combination. I also couldn't help but notice she had a gorgeous body, and full lips. Then I automatically recognized her and frowned. It all started when I bumped into yet another person in the hallway. But this time it wasn't all my fault. I was walking fast not paying attention to where I was going, nothing new with Scarlett Everwood. I accidentally stepped on her toe, and she gave me a death stare. But I did say sorry like a million times. Simple right? But ever since that day she's still been giving me dirty looks.
I snapped out of my trance when I realize she was talking to me. Everyone turned to look at her then turned to look at me. To be honest with myself I should have known better, of course she was popular around here.
Alex sighed as he ran his hand through his hair. "Vanessa not now." He said flatly.
Vanessa laughed humorlessly and waved her hand in the air. "No I want to know why she's here. Oh and by the way you sprained my toe."
"I sprained your toe?" I asked holding in a fit of laughter. I couldn't help but find this whole saturation funny. But I did feel a little bad for spraining her toe.
"Yes you sprained my toe I have to wear this." She hissed pointing to her toe. That was wrapped in mental material.
"Look, I'm really sorry but if you were paying attention I wouldn't have done that. It was not all my fault." I turned around and continued to eat my salad, but I could feel she was getting angrier by the second.
"Listen-" I cut her off.
"No, you listen. . . I told you I was sorry how many times do you want me to say it? I don't have time for your little high school problems why don't you go tell someone who actually cares. Here's a tip on how to make friends because clearly you don't have any. If you did you wouldn't be here complaining me. And if you're nice to people maybe people will actually like you." I snapped not realizing that everyone was staring at me. Everyone had a shocked look on there face. Leo was even smiling, but Vanessa she sure as hell wasn't. I got up quickly because I was no longer hungry. The tension in this cafeteria was killing me. I said a quick goodbye to the table and slowly walked toward the doors exiting the cafeteria.
Before I could take two steps I felt a harsh push in my back, and my feet trip over something. My stomach hit the ground first, I stretched out my hands to try and break my fall, but all I could hear were grasps and screams. I couldn't really tell what was going on.
Then darkness.
