"Time is such a precious thing," they say.

Time is a blessing and a curse.

Let us start of with my understanding of time. Time is but a measurement of the movement of life's events. It's hard to put a definite time on anything. Seconds to count a bit of passing, minutes to count a lot of seconds, hour to minutes, days to hours, and so on and so forth. We don't even know when for sure the earth or the universe were created. We don't know the definite time of Jesus Christ's birth; how can we be for sure that this year is the correct one and not one or even ten off? How do we know that we were really born on the day we were born, or that when the months and days were created something wasn't skipped? Is this Monday really last week's Tuesday? I don't trust time— why do you?
Is "time" even real? We didn't even start measuring it until we were intelligent enough to know how to. It's impossible to be precise. I've concluded (and most likely the majority of others) that time is just to our benefit. We count time to figure out how old we should be when we first start taking steps, when to drive, when to get married, have kids, etc. Businesses need to know when to open and surgeons to operate. We use our birthdays as an indicator of advancement of time (but yet again, can we really trust that we are on the right day, month, and year?). We use our experience in time as a benefit over others; indicating experience and the mass collection of knowledge.
The [speed of] movement of existence cannot be altered by anyone. You could set your clocks back an hour for daylight savings and that has done nothing the property of the very thing time is measuring itself. Again, another advantage of time to ourselves.
People stay in jail for a set amount of time; they can gain or lose years with their actions. You can rent a house on the beach for a week. Put a coin into the slot of a claw-machine and have 13 seconds to drop the arm. We've made time into a buyable platform. Alas! Time isn't material; so how can we buy it? Human's crave the need to feel like they have control over time (fate, etc.)
Your boss sets the meeting at 3 pm sharp, and you better be on time. He makes the strict schedule around here. He "has control" over the time. If everyone isn't seated in their black office chair all around the big meeting table at 3 pm sharp, what can the boss do about them being there? Nothing. Sure, he can fire them, but he cannot control the movement of existence.
We were set upon this earth with different lifetime expectancies. Over the generations they've grown and grown. We've been cheating our bodies for more time; yet we've lived our lives less full. Medicine has an affect on our time. We sit around on our phones, watching TV, arguing, being hateful, and ignoring the pleads of help from others. What happened to the "good ole fashioned human values"? We're so greedy, so lazy. We have no value for the most valuable thing of all: time.
You are getting closer to death every second. Why don't we try to fill our lives with things that make a difference? I am ashamed to say that I, myself, still sit around and waste precious days doing nothing. So, let us make it a goal to fulfill our lives to the greatest we can.
Ah, sweet heartbreak; I did not forget you. To the heartbroken out there, You know the familiar feeling. It takes time to heal, whether it be physical or mental. As the days go bye your heart may largely heal, but there will always be that one part that the almighty time cannot reach. We count how many weeks until the bone will repair along with when our next dentist appointment is. With time comes healing, but as previously states, time cannot fix every single aspect of everything

Time the gift, time the jinx.
