As Tommy came to, a huge pain ran through his whole body, and then it subsided to an ache. The dull ache made his body tingle, especially his hands and feet. He wiggled his toes and fingers, moving the drip in the back of his hand, and finally taking in all his surroundings. What had happened? The room was white and everything in it was white to match, he crinkled the bed sheets in his hand and pulled it upwards to his chest, taking a little more effort than usual. After realising he was at the hospital, he rolled onto his back, staring at the ceiling, he placed his hands on his stomach. Tommy sighed, why am I in here?
His eyes still hadn't focused completely and he hadn't realised that Aurora was asleep on the chairs next to him. He wondered where she was, what had happened to her? His eyes pushed closed again, as if he was tired.. he didn't feel it though, well, no more the usual. He forced his eyes open and sat up, pushing his head against the wall behind him, almost sitting on the pillows. His eyes darted to his right, seeing Aurora sleeping on the chairs beside him. She looked so at peace, he decided to let her sleep, it wasn't often she was happy. Maybe if she was asleep, she wouldn't feel her pain, she would be okay.
Tommy turned his whole body to face her, he watched her chest rise, in and out with each breath. It was relaxing. He often watched her sleeping, he didn't sleep much at home either, especially because of his lungs, they never let him sleep for long.
Aurora suddenly became aware of her surroundings, her eyes still covered by the darkness of her eyelids. It took her a while to open her eyes, she didn't want to blind herself in the bright white room. She laughed to herself, at her thoughts of blinding herself just by the light in the room. Opening her eyes the tiniest amount, she saw Tommy's body facing her. Her eyes adjusted to the light a bit more, and her field of vision increased, her eyes rolled over Tommy's body, and up to his face. His eyes were open, and his usually perfect hair, was flopped over his face. Wait, his eyes are open? Her thoughts whizzed back to his eyes, he was awake. After all that had happened, he had awoken this quickly, she was amazed. Aurora sat up instantly, making her face exactly opposite his, she smiled and bit her lip, he is so gorgeous.. Reaching her hand out slowly, she touched his face, and watched him wince with the pain of her touch. She leant forwards, and kissed him on the lips, he returned the kiss, and wrapped his arm around her neck.
Even though it hurt Tommy to move, he wanted to be close to Rory, he didn't know how much longer he would have with her. He coughed, trying to clear his throat to talk to her, but he couldn't get any words out. There was nothing to say. Tommy looked up at her eyes once more, they were so beautiful, like the rest of her. He tickled the back of her neck, and she smiled lightly, biting her lip again. Tommy loved it when she bit her lip, there was just something about it that made him so happy. Then a horrible thought struck him, how much longer will I have with her?
