Leaving the District

Chapter 4

Effie POV

I'm terribly sad to be going back to the Capitol, but I need to go back for business. I pack my things, and I am determined to write another entry in my diary tonight, if I have time. I start to pack, but leave my diary on the pillow so I can write in it later on the train. I apologize to Katniss, Peeta, and Haymitch for a such short visit, and I go to buy a train ticket. 6 hours until the train leaves, and I'm already packed. I decide to make the best out of my visit, and take a walk with Katniss. "How was your stay?" she asks.
"Fabulous. I wish I could stay longer, I'm so terribly sorry..." I reply flatly.
"It's okay, I was planning on visiting the Capitol soon!" she exclaims.
"That's great!" I say. We decide to turn back, since the train will be leaving soon. I say my goodbyes, and I check the time. 10 minutes until the train leaves! I run into the guest room and gather my bags. I run as fast as my heels can carry me to the train station. I finally board the train, and when the doors close I realize that I left my diary in the guest room.

Katniss POV

I sit in the living room, changing the channel on the tv, looking for something entertaining. Then, I feel a tap on my shoulder. I see Hazel, holding up a cream colored book. "Found this in the guest room." she says.
I take it from her, and then I open it. Effie's diary. I get a feeling in my stomach that this could be a good and bad idea. I read it anyways. The most surprising entry,
"Dear Diary,
There's one man that I have an unexplainable love for. He annoys me, insults me, and nags me all the time, but there's one think about him that I love. His eyes. Those silvery grey beautiful eyes of his, that can make an woman fall in love with him instantly. I'm not looking for anything serious, but just another good look at those sparkling silvery grey amazing eyes. Goodbye for now.

Love, Effie."

Now this was going to be interesting.
