Friday @ 9:10am

As I rolled out of bed, I turned on my record player; the soft melodies danced around in my head. I picked up my slightly damp towel, heading to the bathroom, to find Nicole sitting on the counter; it reeked of nail polish. Nicole looked up and grinned, "Good morning, sleepyhead. Hurry up and get ready, we need to go food shopping. We've managed to eat everything out of place already." I laughed, "And your surprised?!" I started the shower and proceeded to get in. "Hey, can we stop at Susie's too? I need a coffee asap," I sighed. Nicole giggled to herself, "Of course, you sleep deprived child." I poked my head out of the shower and dramatically yawned.

We pulled up to Susie's - an old diner place, we've gotten our coffee from since we were sophomores' in high school. The rush of air blew our hair into a frenzy as we walked in, and immediately you could feel the warmth of the room enclose you, and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee waft into your lungs. We seated ourselves at the counter, and were greeted by Debby, our usual waitress. She somehow has always gotten us out of trouble, and always been there for us, through everything. "Hi ladies, how are my girls doing?" She leaned over the counter with her arms crossed, her soft hazel eyes creasing on the sides from her light smile. I smile sincerely, "Good, how about you Debs? Looking beautiful as always today," her cheeks flush. "Oh, your too nice, what'll it be?" Nicole chimes in, "The usual's Deb," she winks at us and give us a youthful smile, "Sure can do!"

While Debby was grabbing our coffee's, I was staring in the reflection of the shiny, metal napkin holder, angling it to look at things behind me. The ringing from the front doors caused me to angle the view to whom was walking in; two men walked in, tall, broad, and covered in tattoos. I nudge Nicole, and nod my head to the napkin holder, she laughed at first but realized what I was referencing to. She put a hand on her chest and rolled her eyes back into her head, taking a deep breath. "Good heavens," I giggled, they look like such man candy. They both had shades on, which made them 20x hotter by the way, but one of them looked familiar. He had dark black hair -compared to the opposite one who had light brown locks- bulky muscle arms, covered in tats, and a sharp jaw. He had 'take me please' written all over him. BUT, shy little me was not about to go and even try talking to him; however, Nicole had different intentions. She stood up, and seductively walked over to their table. The brown haired man, looked up and cheekily smiled at her. I couldn't tell what she was saying, but next thing I know, she's waving me over. Oh lord help me.

I shyly walk over towards their table, the cheeky brown-haired boy eyes my carefully, while the dark-haired boy has his back turned to his coffee. "Stephanie, this is Tommy," she gestures to the brown-haired boy. I smile awkwardly, and wave, "And this is Dylan," my insides tighten, and immediately get butterflies. "Dylan?" He looks up, finally, from his coffee, and his eyes start to soften from the cold they were. But he instead shut it down, "Hi," he says uninterested. My heart fell a little. Tommy's eyes widen a bit, "You guys know each other?" Dylan stayed quiet, so I spoke, "Yeah, um we met at a party briefly," I drop my eyes to the floor, Nicole puts 2 and 2 together, but doesn't say anything. Thank god. "Well, a guy friend of ours is throwing this rad party tonight, you guys should come!" Tommy said with excitement, Nicole swept her hair out of her face, "I guess we could stop by," she smirked at Tommy. He winked at her, eating his fries, "Alrighty, see you guys later," Nicole waved as we walked away.

Why had Dylan acted so cold towards me? I know we barely know each other, but that is no way treat someone you -hence- barely know. If he wants to play that game, I'll play it right back.

"Nicole? Let's go shopping. For the uh party tonight," I say half-confidently. She glances over at me, "Stephanie? Wanting to go shopping? This wouldn't be you wanting to impress a boy would it?" She gasps dramatically, putting a hand over her heart, "Shut up Nicky, this is not to impress a boy. It's just, I don't have anything to wear for tonight, okay?" I turn away sheepishly, she eyes me, obviously not believing a single word. "Mhm," she says under her breath. But I don't care because, as she said this, we pulled off the freeway to the mall.

After some hard core shopping, I finally found the perfect outfit to make Dylan wish he wasn't such a dick to me at the diner today. This will get his panties in a wad for sure....hopefully.
