"Kendall!!!" I yell, even though he's just a room away.
"Yeah?" He runs into the kitchen, as I finish my sandwich.
"Think you could teach me to use a gun?" I ask, throwing away my napkin, and placing my plate in the sink. His eyes light up.
"Sure!"
I slide my shoes back on, and tie my hair out of my face, into a braid.
"Ready?" Kendall asks. I nod. He grabs two pistols from a drawer off the kitchen. Sliding one into his gun holster, he hands the other to me.
"Let's go."
We walk down the hill, and a bit farther until we can't see the house.
"Do you know where you're going?" I ask him.
"Nope." He replies, popping the "p."
"Are we there yet?" I whine, like a little kid.
"Uh... sure. I just don't want any of those zombies to hear and follow us inside. This is far enough away I guess." He shrugs.
We stand in a wide open field, where a big log is laying in the middle. Kendall runs over to it and places two soda cans on the top.
"This is the magazine. You take it out like this," Kendall pauses, as he removes the piece called a magazine from his own gun, "and you'll reload the magazine with your ammunition. Go on."
I take my gun and carefully remove the magazine, following Kendall as he places his ammunition in columns.
"Then you'll turn the safety off." He pushes a tiny button on the side of his pistol. I do the same.
"Okay, now you're almost ready to shoot, you'll just chamber the cartridge, which inserts a round into the chamber so you're ready to shoot."
I nod, and follow his steps, as I chamber the cartridge.
"Aim at the can I put out there." He whispers in my ear. I nod, and aim.
"Both eyes open." He orders. I open my left eye.
I take a deep breath, aim and hit the trigger. A searing pain shoots down my arms, to my torso, and my arms shake. I hear a loud pop, and open my eyes to see if I hit anything. I hit one of the soda cans, just enough for it to fall off. Kendall runs and puts a new one in place of that one.
"Good!" Kendall yells. "Great for your first time. You've seriously never shot a gun?"
"No. I think it helps that I know how to use a bow." I shrug, with a smile.
"Okay, let's try a couple more shots."
"Are we... done yet?" I drop my arms, and wipe my face clean of sweat with the back of my hand.
"I guess." Kendall laughs. "Mr. Greene should be back now." I add. He nods, and slides his gun into his holster.
"Let's go."
dis is extremely awful... but anyways. I HOPE YOU LIIIKE.
