One month later....
I had just enrolled in Brook House, an international school renowned for its good performance and state of the art equipment. I still found it hard to fit in since I was yet to adjust to this high end lifestyle. As you can already guess Chase also went to this school but unlike me, he was one of the popular guys and as much as he tried to drag me into their lives, I evaded it as much as possible instead making myself busy in the school library. In the little time I've been in the school I've managed to get the attention of the librarian who often has to throw me out when they want to close because most of the time I tend to loose track of time.
During my short span of time in the school I managed to find at least one friend which is an achievement looking at my introverted tendencies. Though she was the one who started talking to me first.
"Hey Lexy" she says to me as I rummage through my locker in search of my English books.
"I'm good Chlo."
"So...uum did your cousin tell you about the party tonight?"
I thought by now she would have known that I don't go to parties. However Chase being the heart throb that he is never misses any and as such he mostly calls me in the wee hours of the night to drive him home. As much as I hate it when he disturbs my beauty sleep, I always turn it to my favour like last time I made him give me the car for a week, a difficult feat to achieve since Chase treated his car like his baby.
"Uh..no. You should know by now that I hate going to parties."
"But its gonna be fun. It's at Mason's house."
Mason has been Chloe's crush from sixth grade. Whenever she sees him walk the hallways in school she always stares as if she's in a trance. As much as the guy is undeniably hot, I can never stoop so low as to stop and stare as he walks in school. Yes, I have a lot of pride but it's just who I am. I was born this way, so probably my parents are to blame for passing me pride genes. But the whole point is, I never stare at a guy no matter how good he looks. It just serves to stroke their enormous egos.
"So what if its at his place? Doesn't make much of a difference to me," I say shrugging my shoulders.
"But..."
Before Chloe can finish her statement the bell to class rings and I dash off to class before she can continue with her whining.
"This conversation isn't over Lex!" she yells at me.
I don't give her any reply as I move towards the classroom. I honestly hope she will drop the subject but knowing how stubborn she is, she probably won't.
I enter class and head over to my seat at the back of the class. In almost all my classes I tend to sit at the back of the class except in History which was because Mrs Merrick has caught me sleeping in class severally and decided to place me at the front of the class where she could keep an eye on me.
As usual I take my ipod off my bag and listen to some songs before the teacher can arrive. After some time, I am interrupted when someone moves my bag from where I placed it(on top of the chair next to me on which no one sits on) and is dropped to the floor.
It doesn't take much to piss me off; except when people tamper with my things, like this person decided on doing. I pop my earphones out of my ears to give this intruder a piece of my mind.
"What the hell is wrong with you?Why did you throw my bag on the floor?" I yell at the top of my lungs making the whole class look at the commotion.
Woah. My intruder is a six foot guy with dark locks of hair, green eyes and a defined jawline. He is wearing a black muscle t shirt that does nothing to hide his abs and black jeans that fit just right on him.
I don't mind such hot intruders though.
"There was no extra seat," he says in a bored tone.
With that he sits down and ignores me as if it was no big deal. I know I'm a little OCD about my stuff but he didn't even apologize for throwing my bag on the floor. I angrily pick up my bag and place it right next to me on the chair. I am seething with anger at this guy and I can barely listen to what the teacher is saying through out the class.
Almost at the end of the class, I try to stifle a yawn as I stretch my hands.
"That's kind of you to volunteer Alex. So you'll help Kaden catch up with his class work."
Wait what did I volunteer for? Who is Kaden?
Before I can voice my complaint to Miss Blaire the bell signifying the end of class rings and the class is over. Just as I'm about to walk out, Miss Blaire calls me.
"Alex, Kaden please come."
Finally my opportunity to see this Kaden guy. To my shock, I see the intruder who was seated next to me heading to Miss Blaire's desk. I almost think its a mistake or something until Miss Blaire starts talking.
"I know you are a bit behind schedule but I have no doubt that Alex here will help you catch up."
All this is said as she looks at the intruder. The intruder is Kaden. I just volunteered to tutor Kaden. This can't be happening to me.
"You can leave Kaden. I need to speak to Alex."
With that he picks his stuff and leaves the room leaving me alone with Miss Blaire.
"Uh.."
She interrupts me before I can say anything.
"That was so kind of you to volunteer Alex, no wonder you're one of my favorites in class," she says smiling at me.
I honestly don't know what to say after she drops that on me. I mean it would be rude to tell her I was yawning not volunteering after her giving me such an appraisal. She was one of my best teachers because she was more easy going and younger than the rest of the other teachers. She also had this bubbly and happy vibe that it was almost impossible to disappoint her the way I wanted to and so I settle on a decision.
I, Alexandria Evans, was going to take Kaden something (I still don't know his surname) to be my lawful student till he catches up with classwork.
Even to my thoughts those words have a bad ring to them.
