The day went by pretty fast and by the end of it all I was pretty tired. Immediately when the last bell rang, I was among the first people to leave the school premises to go home. I dash to the parking lot where my Audi R8 was parked and quickly drive away home. The car was one of the perks of living with my dearest uncle who simply could not have me walking or cycling to school like I used to. As much as I tried to reject his gift he refused to hear any of it claiming that if I rejected his gift he would feel bad. So in the end I had no other choice than to accept his gift to me.

At times like this, I find myself feeling glad that I had actually accepted the car because I couldn't imagine walking home with the way I was feeling. Soon enough I arrive at our gate and park the car after which I head over to my bedroom. I fall back on my soft and fluffy covers and soon enough I drift off to sleep.

I wake up to someone roughly shaking my shoulders. Squinting my heavy lidded eyes, I see Chloe in my room and she's still shaking me like a milkshake.

"Stop it Chloe. I'm now awake!"

Stretching my hands, I sit up on the bed as Chloe also joins me on my bed.

"What are you doing here Chlo?" I ask her still trying to figure out what she's doing at my place at this hour.

"Oh my God! You totally forgot!"

Huh, I don't have any remote idea as to what she's talking about. I try to rack my brain as to the possible things that would make her come here; Assignment no, Shopping too late for that, Sleepover no we only do that on Friday.

"Lex, Mason's party remember? You were supposed to be my escort."

She mumbles something which I don't hear well but knowing her it's probably a string of curses. I thought she forgot about that but sadly it seems she didn't. I don't like going to parties because of many reasons; valid reasons. First, I don't like how people get drunk and make a fool of themselves, second I'm a light weight drinker which means even the weakest of drinks can get me going gaga and lastly I tend to make stupid decisions when I'm drunk.

"Chlo, you know I don't like going to these things."

"But I need you to come with. You are like my closest friend and I need you with me please," she looks at me expectantly. Before I can say anything she adds:

"Okay, I promise we won't be long and if you don't want to drink then we won't. Pretty please," she says looking at me with puppy eyes.

If we won't drink then that eliminates my last two reasons of not going to parties and if we won't stay long then I won't have to witness the first. Her solution could work so I take a deep breath and look back at Chloe who still hasn't dropped the puppy eyes and right now they look misty.

"Okay fine. I'll go but you have to promise me that you'll keep your word."

"I promise! I promise!" She yells at me jumping up and down like a five year old.
A small smile starts making its way to my face at her display. Chloe gets excited over the simplest of things and I like that about her.

" Okay, so you have to hurry up it's 8 already and we should be there by 9."

She has already started rummaging through my closet. I think she knows every nook and cranny of that closet better than I do. She turns back to look at me with an arm full of dresses. I can tell that this will be a long night. After trying out at least five dresses with her criticizing each and every one of them, she settles on a short black dress. I liked it too because it was comfortable than the ones I had tried before.

The arms and part of the neckline was covered in lace and it hugged my curves perfectly. It was knee length pretty much the shortest I was willing to go lengthwise. Chloe on the other hand settled for a little red number that was definitely hot on her. With her long model legs the dress settled mid thigh. She paired it up with some black strappy heels. After doing her makeup she forces me down on my dressing table and applies makeup on my face. Apart from the essential lipstick I don't use any other product on my face only in circumstances like this which Chloe took advantage of and went overboard with it.

After she finishes, I look at the mirror and as much as I hate to say this, I like my look. She has gone for the smoky eye which in some way makes me look like an exotic model. I settle for one of my pairs of black Louboutins which I barely wear.

Walking out of my room, I go to Chase's room to inform him that we were leaving but he's not there. I look for my parents but I only find a note on the kitchen counter saying they went out for dinner and they would be back tomorrow evening.

The drive to Mason's house is not long since we live in the same neighborhood and soon enough we arrive at his place. The place is full of cars we have trouble finding parking space and eventually we settle for parking on the driveway.

The compound is full of people, some standing with drinks, others in the pool swimming. Inside the house is booming with loud music and I can spot some people who are already wasted. Looking at my phone its only 10 o'clock. Chloe leads me upstairs to another room that looks like a private lounge.

Here the people were fewer and I could recognise some of the people here; the top tier of the school otherwise known as the populars. Even Chase was here. I walk up to where he was standing with his friends.

I tap his shoulder and he turns around to give me a once over. Even though he is my cousin it feels awkward.

"Damn, you clean up well cuz."

I roll my eyes at his comment and my eyes wander off to the other people he's talking to. One is dressed in a white t-shirt and a navy blue button down sweater with black jeans and the other is dressed in all black; black muscle t-shirt, black jeans, black leather jacket.

Chase eventually turns to introduce me to his friends the one in the navy blue sweater is Ethan and the one in the dark ensemble is Ryan. Both look handsome but somehow my eyes keep darting to Ryan. We chat a little bit more before we are interrupted by someone clinking a wine glass with a spoon which I assume is to get the crowd's attention.

"Since most of you have arrived, I wish to proceed with the program of the night," he says smiling evily.

Wait, why is there a program. My eyes dart over to where Chloe is standing just next to the guy who was announcing. She looks at him longingly like someone who's seeing food for the first time in days. I can understand why she's looking at him like that because he looks good. In the process of staring, I miss most of what was said and only jolt back to reality when Chase is dragging my ass across the room.

People are crowded over a table. I nudge some people to see what is going on.

Oh no. Beer pong.

Chase being the stupid guy that he is, immediately volunteers us up. The game ends up as a tie with both of us ending up drinking the same number of beer cups. I can already feel drowsy. I try to look for Chloe in the crowd but she is nowhere to be seen. I settle for sitting on a couch in the room and waiting for the drowsiness to fade away.

I wake up with a massive headache. Sprawling across my bed is Chloe with her dress hiking up her thighs. Wait, how did we even get to my place? I pick the covers which are carelessly thrown on the floor to cover Chloe as I walk to the medicine cabinet in my bathroom. I swallow two aspirins and go back to bed.

I wake up sometime in the afternoon. Chloe is not in bed with me and I take a quick shower and shrug into a baggy sweat shirt and some black tights. I go downstairs to look for some food. In the living room, I'm shocked to find a couple of people seated around the sofas. I see Chloe, my cousin Chase, Ryan and Ethan.

Chloe spots me first and the others turn to look at me.

"Oh my God! You will not believe what you did yesterday Lex."
