George sighed watching her as she left his shop. His brown eyes watched her move across the street back to her cafe. She was beautiful and he had known that since their first year. Unfortunately they had been put in separate houses and he never really had the opportunity to talk to her. He sighed as he ran a hand through his hair. A costumer pushed some items in front of him. He rung them out quickly, taking the money, putting it into the register and giving change if necessary, which in this case it hadn't been needed, but then again he had been living this life for so long that it felt like nothing was real anymore. With Fred gone, he had been living his days alone without doing anything significant. Without Fred he felt he couldn't live to his full potential. His brother completed him, and he didn't think he'd find anyone who could compliment him the way his brother had. He frowned as he realized that he had been through this conversation in his head so many times and it never got better. Nothing seemed to be getting better, but that changed the moment Lucy Taylor walked in to his store.

She had long brown hair that he definitely could see himself running his fingers through, and she had beautiful eyes. He had seen the the surprise in her features when he told her he thought they were beautiful. He remembered when he first met her in their first year, she had two brown eyes, but something happened to cause one of her eyes to turn black. He had never had the chance to ask her why, but now that he had the chance to stare into them, he couldn't think of anything sexier. She had beautiful tan skin that he wanted to feel. He imagined she felt soft, like silk and he had been right. He had been able to fell her skin, when he has spooked her and she almost fell off the second floor balcony he had grabbed her, held her close to him before he saw her blush and let her go. He remembed watching her as she was stared up at the skeleton hanging from the ceiling and she had looked so innocent, like she hadn't been touched by anything evil in her life, but he knew that wasn't true.

She had been there are the battle of Hogwarts, he had known that. She had been the one to find Fred's body, as he remembered she was laying on top of his body crying as if she had tried to save his life, but no one had been there to comfort her. She had been pulled away from him by McGonagall, and lead to the group that was taking care of the survivors. George remembered it clearly. He had been so immersed in his grief that he hadn't seen anything around him clearly at the time, but now he knew, he knew she had been the one to find Fred. In his anger and grief he had pushed her aside. He swallowed back a few tears. Today he was done crying, done grieving over the brother he would never see again. Lucy reminded him that he was still young and he still had a reason to live. He was going to go on that date with her, and he was going to have fun, He was going to tell her, she was beautiful, and maybe if he got the courage to do so ask her what happened to her eye. Maybe she would trust him, after all who wouldn't trust George Weasley?

He felt himself grin, a real grin, a lopsided grin that made the last of his costumers look at him funny, but he didn't care. For once he was feeling good, he was feeling happy and he was ready for his date. Lucy had been the woman he had been wanting to go out with since the third year. He remembered the day he knew he was in love with her. It was their third year and they were in the middle of a match when her broom broke, a slytherin had cursed it, but no one could prove it, and she had fallen from her broom. He had been scared that she was going to die. He remembered him and all the other teammates from both teams had stopped the game to chase after her. He jumped from his broom towards her and grabbed her. He had managed to twisted his body so he landed on the ground and she landed against his chest.

Her eyes had been shut tight and her head buried in his chest. He remembered the sound she made when the air left her lungs. After they hit the ground she looked at him for a minute, tears had flowed down her face, but she thanked him just the same as she felt his twin, Fred, pull her up off of him. George was pulled out of quidditch for the rest of the season because of a bad back, even though Madam Pomfrey had healed it she wanted him to rest and relax. He even heard that the game had been cancelled and rescheduled, but he was glad he had saved her. He had seen the gratefulness in her eyes when he saved her and that was worth it all. She had graced him with a smile and small kiss on the cheek, which was worth more then the hundred points that Professor Dumbledore had given him for saving Lucy's life.

He glanced at the clock and realized just how lost he had gotten in his thoughts, it was getting closer to his date. He wanted to make this date perfect. He wanted Lucy to know that she was important, that he cared about her. He wanted her to know that he wasn't going to tease her or make fun of her. He knew that she had been the target of jokes and pranks by a group of slytherins for most of her time at Hogwarts, but he didn't know why, maybe she'd share that with him. Maybe she'd open up to him and he'd get to make her smile like she just made him smile moments ago, just by thinking about her. He sighed as he pulled on his suit coat and tightened the red and gold tie he kept from his gryffindor days. Usually he hated to wear a tie, but today was a special day. He was going on a date for the first time since the war had ended.

He left his apartment above the shop and made his way across the street. She was sitting on the stairs outside her shop, wrapped in a long coat and there was a scarf wrapped around her neck. It was blue and bronze, the color of her house at Hogwarts. He walked up to her and held his hand out. She looked up at him with a smile and took his hand as he pulled her to her feet. She put her arm in his as he held it out for her to take and they walked toward a small restaurant down the street of Hogsmeade. He was going to treat her to the best dinner he could afford. George Weasley did not do anything halfway so this was going to be the best date she had ever been on, or so he hoped.
