mina ran.
her body felt like it was on fire and she was struggling to breathe, but a strange sense of freedom swept over her as she ran without having to worry where her pack was going or where they were.
she was alone.
she was a lone wolf.
running wild, she laughed as she zoomed through trees, ducked underneath branches and felt the cold, morning breeze brush past her ears as her hair flowed back.
although she felt great and free, she couldn't help the empty space inside her heart which her pack members once filled up.
she decided to push the thought of them out of her mind as she slowed her pace, catching sight of an eerie mist that spread through the trees, wrapping itself around bushes and the grass, covering it like a white, fluffy blanket.
glancing around, she blinked, trying to see through the mist even though she knew it wouldn't work. werewolves' common weakness was silver, but they also had another weakness...
they can't see through fog.
she felt her usually hot blood freeze when she realised what was causing the thick fog surrounding her.
gulping, she licked over at her canines as they elongated past her lip.
"lycanthropes don't belong in the temno woods." a gentle voice spoke. mina couldn't detect where it came from, it sounded like it was a part of the wind. like the wind was whispering to her.
mina's breath hitched when she realised she was in the temno woods. she'd never been here before, but chaelin had told her many stories of werewolves that went there, but never returned, they were tortured by the evil lurking in the mist.
chaelin told her to never go to the woods, under any circumstances.
"you're a lone wolf." the wind whispered again, sending chills down her spine.
mina didn't dare reply, instead she looked around, trying to find a place to run. she'd already lost all sense of whereabouts, she had no idea she came from.
"so naive and young." the woman's voice sighed.
"okay, look, if you're gonna kill, lets get it over and done with i don't have all day." mina spoke, rolling her eyes. "just come on out and we'll settle this."
a laugh echoed throughout the forest.
"you're rather brave for a cub." the woman's voice sounded again. mina caught a shadow in the corner of her eye and turned to see it disappear into the mist.
"not brave," mina licked her bottom lip. "just stupid."
"why are you out here by yourself, little one?" the voice whispered.
mina saw another shadow and it disappeared before she caught sight of it again.
"wouldn't you like to know." mina retorted.
suddenly, a figure started making it's way through the mist and mina backed up a few steps, watching as a woman emerged out of the fog.
mina saw a beautiful woman, a beauty like she'd never seen before. her face was perfectly angled, her cheekbones and jawbone sharp enough to cut her. her eyes were bright blue and vibrant, standing out against her light skin and hair.
her hair was down, reaching her hips, it was a platinum blonde and looked as soft as silk. the woman's skin was almost as light as her hair. her lips were plump and full, looking slightly drained of colour. her dark eye lashes were almost touching her perfectly sculpted eyebrows.
