Chapter 1

Atholee's POV

"Hey, hey, hey, Herbie students! It's the end of the school year, so you know what that means..." I tuned out the school secretary by then.

I was too busy trying to find Raven after she ran off to God knows where.

Kaci-Lee was by my side helping me look for her.

"Yuh know if shi have no meeting fi guh?" She asks me. (Do you know if she has any meetings to go to?)

"No, shi neva seh noting bout no meeting." I reply. (No, she didn't say anything about a meeting.)

Although she would most likely be at a meeting, because that's just Raven, she knew we had something important to talk about today so she wouldn't just go somewhere without telling me.

"Mi go call ar." I say, taking out my phone. (I'm going to call her.)

I dialed her number and tapped the call button. She picked up on the third ring.

"Where are you?" She asked.

"Where are you?" I asked back.

"I'm around the sixth form eating area with Nickiela."

"Alright, mi deh come." (Alright, I'm coming.)

Kaci-Lee and I walked to the eating area and found Raven and Nickiela laughing about something.

"Wah unu deh laugh bout?" Kaci asks. (What are you laughing about?)

"Nuh dis yah one yah deh talk bout how shi nuh want O'Neil fi touch ar because he han dem dry." Nickiela says pointing at Raven. ( This one's saying that she doesn't want O'Neil to touch her because his hands are dry.)

The four of us laughed at that.

"A nuh lie he han dem crusty fi true." I say. (It's true his hands are crusty.)

After we were able to calm down, Kaci decided to talk.

"Alright, Alright. Wah unu go do fi di singing someting?" (Alright, Alright. What are you going to do for the singing thing?)

"Well, Atholee's mother works at the airport so maybe she can get the plane tickets..." She trains off looking at me hopefully.

About the singing thing as Kaci called it. The three of us, Raven, Nicki and I are really into singing. So we decided to go on X Factor. Well our friend Anaïssa pretty much decided for us. She basically gave us the information and persuaded us to go. She made us think about how it would benefit us and told us what to do if anything went wrong. She could be a really good publicist one day.

But it wasn't that easy to convince our parents. I literally had to guilt trip my mother into letting me go. And I had to make a deal with my father that if I did well in school I could go.

Anyway back to the current situation.

"Yeh, mi mada can get fi mi and Nickiela ticket but Yuh fada can get yours, right?" I say to Raven. (Yes, my mother can get mine and Nickiela's tickets but your father can get yours, right?)

"I will call him and ask later."Raven says with a nod.

After that we continue to talk about what we would do if we really do get to go. My report looks really good so hopefully I do go.

Unfortunately, Baby Kaci won't be coming with us she wasn't able to convince her parents into letting her come. But I know that if we get through the auditions, she will be our number one supporter.

I'm currently at home in my mother's room watching TV. I'm waiting for her to come home from work. She said she might have a late flight today and it's past 10 o'clock. I'm not worried though, she called a few times to check on me.

My father texted too. I sent him a picture of my report and asked him if I could go. He said he would talk to my mother about it.

I really do hope I get to go.
