I spot the coffee shop across from the book store. I look into the book store and see Sean in his original position behind the counter.
Smiling, I turn my heels towards the coffee shop and look through the windows to see Hunter sitting alone in a window seat with the same hoodie, with the hood up.
I walk over to the door and pull it open. The smell of coffee grinds fill my lungs. This place is like our local Starbucks, except, I've never tried Starbucks.
I walk over to the table that Hunter is seated at and sit down at the booth in front of him.
"Well hello there, cutie." He smiles. "Hey, phone thief." I tease. "Technically, you took mine too" he shoots back.
"Okay touché, but could I have my phone back? I've been dying without it." I ask while taking out his phone from my camera bag.
"Sure thing, but I need something in return." He smirks. "Which is?" I ask.
"I want to buy you dinner sometime, I feel like this has bonded us somehow and I want to get to know you better" You can tell by the sparkle in his eyes that he's being one hundred percent honest.
"Hunter, I have a boyfriend..." His eyes sadden at my words, "Okay then, can we go as friends?" I'd hate to say no.
"Totally, it sounds fun. But for now, can I have my phone?" I giggle. He smiles and nods his head, "Here you go".
He hands my beautiful phone back over to me and I smile like an idiot. He probably thinks I'm overreacting since it's just a phone, but I'm not.
My whole life is in this small device. I have tones of art portfolios with pictures I've taken from different places. Some of which are my entry for the photography contest I'm trying to win.
Loose this phone, and I can kiss that win goodbye.
"You must love your phone" Hunter laughs at me. "It's pretty much my whole life. But I could say the same for you. Why didn't you tell me you were famous?" I ask randomly.
He sighs before speaking, "It's complicated and I didn't want to scare you away.."
"Well I thought I would have scared you away by taking that picture of you but hey, look where we are now" I laugh, he laughs with me.
"Okay that's fair. You know you have an adorable laugh" he smiles. My cheeks flush red with embarrassment. I absolutely hate my laugh, it's so annoying.
I place my face in my palms, "sorry I'm so awkward" I say but it comes out muffled from my hands so I'm not sure if he understood me.
"Okay whatever you say," he chuckles, "Do you want to go back to my place and hang?" He questions with a hopeful look in his eyes.
I don't want to say yes but I don't want to say no either. I just met him and this might seem crazy but I feel like we're going to become good friends. So there's definitely no way I'm passing this up.
"Sure. That'd be fun" I smile. He returns the gesture, "Okay good, but we'll have to walk is that fine? It's only about 5 minutes away."
"Yeah that's cool, hey I didn't know you lived so close to me, I love about 5 to 10 minutes from here too" I tell him.
"Really? Great, now we have no excuse why we can't hang out a lot." He smiles cheekily.
Smooth, Hunter, smooth.
"Whatever" I giggle. "Ready to go?" He asks. I nod my head and follow him out of the door.
What did I just get myself into?
