- hunter's point of view -
Aubree and Ariel just left so it's just Blake and I, standing in silence.
"So do you want to tell me what is really going on between you and Aubree?" He questions, breaking the silence.
I shrug, "Nothing is going on. We're just friends."
It's true, we're only friends, sadly. She's different that's all. I've never met someone like her before, it's like she's an open book but I just can't read the words.
She hides her feelings in, yet they are always plastered on her face.
Maybe I'm not the one who needs discovering, she is. And I intend on finding out who she really is, deep down.
I want to know her biggest fears, dreams, the little things that make her mad, and the little things that make her happy.
I want to know her.
"You know, I'm not that stupid Hunter. I can see the way you look at her, you like her don't you?" Blake asks interrupting my thoughts.
"I don't know, I mean we just met and I feel like she's the part of my life I've been looking for, you know?" I reply.
Truthfully, I'm not sure how I feel. And I'm certain she doesn't know how she feels, considering her - ex - boyfriend just cheated on her.
She's probably lost. And you can see it in her eyes.
Earlier, when she stopped and looked at herself in the mirror, you could see pain and sadness.
She is heartbroken. And her emotions showed it.
My job is to keep her happy, and that's my goal.
"Yeah I get it, that's how I felt when o met Ariel. But just give it time bro, she's going through a lot probably at the moment" he says.
"Yeah I guess you're right. But come on, my mom is making breakfast. Bree and Ariel will be back soon." I change the topic.
He simply nods his head and follows me into the kitchen.
I see Ashton stuffing his face with a waffle. "Slow down Ashton, it's not like it's gonna run away" I laugh.
"Well first come first serve" he shrugs and continues to eat his food.
"Where's Brando?" Blake asks. I open my mouth answer but am interrupted.
"RIGHT HERE" a voice yells and Brandon appears into the kitchen.
"Wait, where's Aubree?" Is the first thing he asks. I roll my eyes, "She went to her apartment with Ariel to change and such."
"Oh." He says then sits in the chair beside of Ashton.
My question is, why does he care so much. Every time she's around he just stares at her like some creep.
To be fair, she is beautiful. You could possibly get lost in her smile.
Blake nudges my shoulder, once again, pausing my thoughts.
"Here are some more waffles, now I have to go to work. I'll be back later today, okay? I love you guys." My mom smiles and kisses each one of us on the forehead, including Blake.
He's always been like a brother to us.
"Bye!" I wave as she walks out of the door.
"So what is the plan for today?" Blake questions. "I was thinking just a chill day, maybe just watch some Netflix or something." I respond.
"Okay, that sounds fun. I'm assuming this is for Aubree, correct?" He wiggles his eyebrows up and down.
I laugh and roll my eyes, "So what if it is?"
"Awe hunter is finally growing up" he puts his hand to his chest and wipes a fake tear away.
"Shut up man" I shove his arm. Brandon and Ashton go back into their rooms.
"We shoul-" Blake starts but gets cut off.
"WE'RE BACK!" Ariel yells while coming through the door, Aubree following behind.
My eyes trail up to hers and she smiles slightly.
She's wearing black leggings and an oversize maroon hoodie. Her hair is pulled up into a messy bun and she looks adorable.
"Well don't get to comfortable" Blake says. "Wait why?" I ask, turning towards him.
"Because, if we are going to have a Netflix day then we need a butt load of snacks." He says in a 'duh' tone.
"Oh yeah, right. We can go to the nearest grocery store and just buy tones of junk food" I add.
"We have to get cookie dough icecream. It's my absolute favorite thing on Earth." Bree chimes in with a bubbly voice.
"Yes! And some rocky road icecream" Ariel adds. "Now we're talking" Blake smirks.
"I'll call an Uber" he says. They both walk into the living room leaving Aubree and I.
"Are you feeling better?" I ask. "A little yeah. But I can already tell today is gonna make me feel ten times better as well" she smiles.
"Well that's good," my voice trails off thinking of what to say next.
"You know," I start, "Sean didn't deserve you."
Her eyebrows furrow in causing a crease to form above them, "What do you mean?"
"I mean, if Sean didn't see the amazing, talented, smart, nice, and beautiful girl you are. Then he didn't deserve you. You deserve better." The words fly out of my mouth without me realizing it.
I peek up at her and see that she's smiling wildly causing confusion to surface on my face.
"What?" I ask. "Nothing, nothing at all. But thank you hunter, nobody's ever said that to me before" her smile continues to shine.
"Well, it's true. But you're welcome" I return the smile.
We stare into each other's eyes for a good moment.
Not talking, just standing there letting the silent consume us. It's nice actually, because it's like we are communicating without communicating.
"Alright, the Uber is outside" Ariel states.
Aubree looks down and smiles before looking back up, "Well we better get going." She says.
We all do what she says and head out of the door where the Uber is waiting.
This is going to be a great day.
