"WAIT, WHAT?! I CAN'T DO THAT MR. NAMJOON," I shouted in front of the whole entire class - looking like I had gone completely crazy. Jungkook, my enemy since last year, and I was just paired up to do a half-semester project. "SIR, I CAN'T WORK WITH HER!" Jungkook shouted back to Mr. Namjoon. Now we were both standing up from our seats, looking equally mad at the teacher.
Mr Namjoon replied back saying, "Well, you'll have to learn how to work together. As all of you should know, if you were even listening, this project will be accountable for 20% of your grade overall in my class."
Uhhhhhhhhhhh I don't want to fail this, but I definitely do not want to work with Jungkook. Jungkook doesn't even do homework nor does he study. I'm screwed and I'm probably doing this project alone.
My name is Chang SooJin and I'm in my 3rd year of high school. I've been in deep trouble with my grades and reputation since Jeon Jungkook was transferred into Silver Lane High School, my high school. Ever since Mr. Jeon moved here, he's been ruining everything. He would always get me in trouble for something he did. But I'm not the only one who he pranks, he pranks everyone in the school, even the teachers and staff.
I don't even know why he picked me to be his "enemy" but he just picks and messes with me the most.
Through all of my life, I've never met anyone as annoying and troublesome as Jungkook. And neither has this high school.
The lesson starts and Mr. Namjoon teaches us about something, but I wouldn't know because I was too caught up in my thoughts. What if I don't finish the project? What was the project even about? I was lost in my thoughts for the whole entire period.
Finally the bell rang and the class started packing their things and started standing up from their seats. But before anyone could leave the room, Mr. Namjoon interrupted. "Are you all really gonna leave this room without even knowing what you'll be researching for your project?"
Everyone sat back down and listened to what Mr. Namjoon was saying.
To be completely honest, I knew Mr. Namjoon was talking but I didn't really pay attention.
I was cut off of my thoughts once I heard a voice.
"Ms. SooJin?"
I looked up and saw a displeased Mr. Namjoon.
"I can tell you weren't really paying attention, weren't you? Since I can't get too mad in the morning, I'll just tell you the directions again. Just pick out a piece of paper from this cardboard box," he said.
I did as he instructed and pulled out a piece of paper.
I read it to myself
"Independence Hall, Pennsylvania"
What about the Independence Hall? What do I research on it? What is the project? An essay?
I really should stay focused to the lesson next time.
