Jungkook walked down the hall, heading to his first class, Mathematics. Oh how he hated the subject. Even if he was good at it, his brain just didn't like the work that was put into it. He groaned inwardly and continued walking, passing by a group of girls. "Ew! Look at that guy. A couple of months in, and he still looks horrible." A high pitched voice basically screeched. He rolled his eyes and stuffed his hands into his pocket, just walking away. He had to deal with that every day; insults and rude words thrown at his way. He heard another voice, more masculine this time. It was slightly far away and behind him, so he turned around and saw a group of jocks surrounding an innocent boy.
"Hey, look! It's the new transfer kid. Yo, kid. What's your name?" One of the jocks asked, pushing the transfer boy against the lockers.
"T-Taehyung.. " Taehyung whimpered, feeling threatened and scared. He's never felt this way at his last school, since he was treated differently and all.
"The name suits you, it fits your pathetic and weak persona." The jock - If Jungkook could recall, his name was Minhyun - scoffed, pushing him again. Taehyung tried to escape, but just got pulled back by his hair. He let out a yelp and tried to cover his head.
"Yah! Leave him alone! He's new, cut him some slack, jeez." Jungkook shouted, rushing over to them and pulling Taehyung away from the jocks. Actually, Taehyung hadn't really needed help, but gladly accepted it since he couldn't do anything in this state. Models had to go through training to gain their body-structure, so there he is.
"The fuck? Nerd! Mind your own fucking business!" Minhyun balled up his hands and landed a punch right on Jungkook's stomach. Jungkook winced at the sharp pain that surged through his body, though he just started running while dragging Taehyung behind him. Taehyung's eyes were wide, seeing how the other male got hurt for him. No one's ever done that for him before, so he was surprised. He just followed though, knowing that resisting wouldn't help. Jungkook stopped once the group of jocks were out of sight and leaned against the wall, holding his stomach.
"A-are you okay? That looked like it hurt.." Taehyung said quietly, his tone worried.
"I'm fine. It was just a punch, there's just a bruise." Jungkook smiled at Taehyung and continued, "Well, I'm guessing you don't know where your class is? I'll take you." He let go of Taehyung's hand and motioned for him to walk beside him. "What class are you in?" He asked.
"Ah.." Taehyung quickly pulled out a piece of paper and pointed. "2A." He said.
"We're in the same class! Nice. Come on." Jungkook started walking toward his class, still holding his stomach. Taehyung glanced at Jungkook, worry still in his eyes.
"Are you sure you're okay?" He asked again, resulting to Jungkook nodding. They just continued walking in an awkward silence. Other students ignored them and sometimes attempted to trip them. They both avoided those causes easily, getting to their classroom successfully. They were still pretty early, since they both arrived at school at an early time. They took a seat next to eachother, no words being exchanged. Jungkook decided to break the silence.
"So, why did you decide to transfer schools?" Jungkook straight-up asked, getting right to the point. Taehyung started sweating, being a really bad liar that he is.
"Um.. Bullies g-got to me back at my o-old school." He stuttered, hoping Jungkook had bought it.
"Ah, I see.." Jungkook nodded and smiled, he felt pity for Taehyung. "My name's Jeon Jungkook. Let's be friends." Poor kid.. Taehyung nodded and also introduce himself.
"Kim Taehyung. I'm sure you heard earlier." Taehyung slightly smiled, facing the front again.
The teacher walked in soon after, though, interrupting their time to speak. The ringing of the bell lingered after a bit as class started. As usual, the jocks were late and had to make a memorable entrance. Jungkook sighed and shook his head as one of the other jocks smirked at him, Jisook. The one who always tried to sexually harass Jungkook, always leading to a kick right in the balls. Of course, right before Jisook got to even touch Jungkook, Jungkook would always just run or kick him, right there. Jungkook and Taehyung sat staring at the teacher as he lectured. Kim Namjoon, that was their professor's name.
[After Class]
"What's your next class?" Taehyung asked, his confidence improving.
"I have photography or something with.." Jungkook thought for a bit, "Mr. Kim Seokjin." Namjoon's head snapped in their direction when he heard Seokjin's name. Jungkook and Taehyung ignored it though, Taehyung's grin widening.
"We have the same next class, too??" Taehyung exclaimed happily, cheering a little. Jungkook chuckled at the other's actions and shook his head slowly, but them whimpered as he held his book close to his stomach. He had totally forgotten about his bruise.
"Yeah, we do. Now let's go, we don't want to be late." Jungkook said, tilting his head in the door's direction and began walking out. Taehyung followed like a lost puppy and tried not to get separated from Jungkook. They both walked into the classroom, sitting next to eachother once again. Taehyung turned to Jungkook with his box-smile. Jungkook felt something in his stomach. He's never felt it before, but he liked it. Taehyung had the same feeling, but dismissed it. He admitted that he liked it though, never wanting the feeling to stop.
"So, Jungkook.. Tell me about yourself." Taehyung said, leaning back in his chair and turned his head to look at Jungkook.
"Well.. My birthday's September 1st, 1997." Jungkook said, shrugging. "When's yours?"
"December 30th, 1995! I'm older than you~" Taehyung danced a little in his seat. "I started school kinda late." He explained. Jungkook nodded, just as the bell rang.
"Good morning, class! Hope you're energetic today, because we're partnering up! You have to partner up with the person you're sitting next to. We're starting a project using instant cameras and digital cameras! You have to take pictures of something that you find interesting, places, scenes, anything. Just be creative, and don't be self-centered! You can create a scrapbook, a poster, anything. It must be physical though." Mr. Kim explained, using hand motions to get the words through. Jungkook looked over at Taehyung with a large smile, Taehyung doing the same.
"When do you want to start?" Jungkook asked.
"Tomorrow? Today? I don't mind." Taehyung shrugged as Jungkook thought for a minute.
"I have an idea! Maybe we both go shopping today for the supplies and we'll start with the pictures tomorrow?" He suggested. Taehyung nodded frantically in agreement, excitement spreading throughout his body. They started to plan things out and where they would go on Taehyung's notebook.
"Nice! We've got everything down! Okay, so.. We'll bring both of our cameras yes?" Taehyung questioned, pointing at the notebook. Jungkook nodded and smiled. "Great. So I'll ask my parents during lunch if I could go out today." Taehyung nodded and smiled as well.
"Yup, same here. Meet up at the front?" Jungkook said. Taehyung nodded again and pulled out the piece of paper that had his schedule on it. It turns out that they had most of their classes together. They had their first, second, fourth, fifth, sixth, and eighth periods together. "Cool~ Now.. What do we do?" Jungkook asked. Taehyung just shrugged and then had an idea pop into his head.
"When we work on the scrapbook, we should do it at someone's house right? Which house, mine or yours?" Taehyung asked, secretly hoping Jungkook would say his own house and not Taehyung's.
"Yours." Jungkook said almost immediately after the question was asked. He didn't want Taehyung to know who he was, and then he'll only be his friend for the popularity.
"R-right, alright!" Taehyung slightly stuttered, at that time, the bell rang, signalling it was time for lunch.
