The Bat and The Bird

Team

Artemis, Kid Flash, Super Boy, Aqualad, and Miss Martian were already gathered in the main room at the sound of the beep that signaled a team meeting.

Batman was beamed in with a girl none of them had ever seen before. Her suit was yellow, black, and gray, and a black mask hid her face and concealed her identity. Her black hair fell in waves around her. She pushed Batman off of her. Out of earshot from the group, they spoke softly to each other.

"Look at them, they already hate me" The girl growled

"No they don't, they're just curious" Batman countered

"I want to go home Batman. I'm not cut out for this. I don't work well with groups" The raven haired girl groaned in protest

"Just try it okay" Batman whisper-sighed

"This is gonna epically blow-up in your face. Don't say I didn't tell you so. They're gonna hate me, I'm not good at the whole social thing Bats" She practically sing-songed in mockery

"Just be a leader. It'll be good for you"

"Like they'll listen to me" She scoffed, "You sound like your trying to get rid of me, at least make it a little less obvious"

"I though I was doing all right" Batman grinned

The girl rolled her eyes and chuckled to herself.

However, their entire exchange had happened with nearly no motion at all except their synchronized steps that echoed off the cold stone floors towards the group. In fact, they hadn't appeared to be moving their mouths at all, but after all their years training and fighting together, the two understood each other very well, and knew how to communicate discreetly.

"Hey Bats" Artemis called out annoyingly

"Yikes" Liliac muttered

"Be nice" He countered as they approached the group.

"Team, this is Liliac, she'll be joining you under my strictly advised counsel" Batman stated

"Another BatKid" Aqualad chuckled before introducing himself, "I'm Aqualad, nice to meet you"

Liliac shook his hand and nodded

"Artemis" A blonde girl lazily stuck her hand out, Liliac shook it firmly, containing her judgmental look.

"Kid Flash, but you can call me Wally babe" A lanky, red haired teen winked. Liliac raised an eyebrow high before letting out a small laugh, it rung throughout the room, almost beautifully.

Robin was coming down a hall when he heard it. The laugh seemed familiar and Robin stopped in his tracks. He resolved that he was just hearing things, before continuing on his was to the meeting. He was late, which didn't happen often.

Liliac shook Kid's hand, "Wally then" She chuckled

"Hello! It's lovely to meet you! I'm Miss Martian" A girl Martian presented herself excitedly. Liliac felt a little overwhelmed as she nodded.

"Liliac, nice to meet you too" She replied simply

"And that's Super Boy" Batman indicated to the silent stoic boy. He was a spitting image of Superman, Liliac almost had to take a step back and make sure she hadn't gone back in time. They exchanged a nod.

"Where's-" Batman was cut off

"Liliac" Robin said softly upon entering the room

"Robin?" She replied, surprised

"It's nice to see you again" He said to fill the awkward silence that had followed

"The feeling is mutual" She said, unsure of what else to say. She wasn't very good at the whole social thing.
