The unexpected

 One of my closest friends Amy, was going to get engage today for her 2 year anniversary. Issac her boyfriend told me to come for this special moment. I promised them I would since i'm always busy with work and studying. Finishing up final touches on my hair I shut off the bathroom lights and closed the door. My plain black dress was laying on my bed as I changed into it. I checked the time as it says 5:27 pm. The dinner doesn't start until 7 and I wanted to go to the flower store. I put my phone in my dress pocket and grabbed my coat. I put on my silver heels and saw Choji make her way towards me. " Good-bye Choji. I'll see you later." Choji was my pet cat that meows every time I leave. Meow meow. " I know! You'll see me later and i'll give you cuddles okay?" Grabbing my purse she followed me to the door. I look down to see her big blue eyes. " Don't give me that, be a strong girl!" I closed the door behind me locking it.

I walked to the elevator and pushed the button. It's been forever since I've had the freedom to do what I want. If I hadn't promised Isaac I wouldn't have came. I got on the elevator and shortly after a few seconds I got off. Walking into the streets of business and cars honking everywhere. It was weird not going to work, as I felt like a lost puppy not knowing where she's going. I sighed as I continue to walk to the closet flower shop. There was this flower shop called Diamonds and Petals and it was owned by my mom's friend Nari. Awkwardly walking in Nari was busy putting different flowers together. " Hello," I said shly. I quickly scoped around the flower shop as I looked at the different flower options. I never knew there were so many colors and how each and every one is so unique.

" Rosie?" I quickly turned around and saw Nari staring at me with that hopeful look in her eyes. " Oh how much I miss you." My face must of given away that i'm Rosie. I gently hugged her back. We caught up with new news in our life. I told her I was an fashion designer and that I own a clothing shop online that's very busy. She asked me if I was seeing anyone and I told her I wasn't. I grabbed a bouquet of flowers and begin to take out my card. " Rosie, honey it's on me today. I didn't know you live to near! Come back and visit me, oh and tell your friend Amy congratulations." I smiled and waved bye to Nari as I exited out the store.

Checking the time on my phone as the event starts in 10 minutes. I panicked as I put my hand out for the taxi cab. After the taxi cab stopped I got in, " Here can you go to this address." I handed him my phone as I put my seatbelt on. The place wasn't that far but I didn't want to walk in this cold weather. I felt a vibration through my pastel pink coat as I ignore it. It was probably an email telling me what I missed today at work. I rolled my eyes as the thought of my coworker was trying to find an excuse to see what i'm doing. I just told her a couple days ago I wasn't coming in for work because of a special event. She was always noisy in what I do especially when it comes to my store online. I sighed annoyed as I took my phone out to see who it was.

Isaac was wondering where I was. So I texted him back i'm almost there. When I was there I paid the taxi cab and walked inside the restaurant. The smell of steak lingered in the air with a warmful fragrance. " Rosie over here!" I saw Amy smiling as she quickly walked to give me a hug. " I MISSSSSS YOU SO MUCH!" She said while squeezing me. I couldn't help but smile back then I realized the flowers were in my hand. " Amy here you go," I said after we pulled apart. I could see Issac in the corner shaking his head and making his way towards me. " There she is, the most famous fashionable Rosie winterbine!" I chuckled as I gave him a quick hug. " It's been so long." I finally said. They both looked at each other and agreed. We walked back to the table as I saw a couple of other people I haven't recognize. Isaac introduced me that it was his business workers that were very close to him. I said my greetings and shake their hands.

Isaac and Amy was looking at each other like they were guilty. " Okay Amy spit it out. I could see it all over your face." Amy looked at Isaac " You say it honey since it was your idea." She nudged him on the elbow and pretended to fake smile like nothing was going on. " First of all it wasn't but okay," He looked at Amy like she would regret what she said. On the other hand I was so confused on what was going on. " Is this about my website? I mean Amy if you really want that coat really bad i'll let you borrow mine." They both look away guilty. " If that's not it then what is it. Spit it out Amy, not you Isaac." Amy looked like a lost child looking for help. " Promise me you won't get mad," I nodded my head as she continued. " I know you said you're not ready but I paired you up with someone." I stared at them both as those word echoed in my ear. " What?" I said trying not to sound annoyed. Amy was about to say something by Isaac took in. " One of my best buddies is looking for a girl and it was Amy's brilliant idea to set him up with you. So he knows about it and he's on his way."

I couldn't believe the words I was hearing. The words that I made Amy promised not to say but she broke her promise. Amy excused herself as she went to the restroom. The waiter came as I ordered some pasta dish. " Rosie, I know Amy promised you but look, tonight is a special night but can you at least do this for Amy. She wants the best for you since your her really close friend." I couldn't think of anything else to say than to agree with it. I put my hands on my face as I regretted what i'm about to do. " Okay fine, but if he hurts me i'll punch his face to the wall." I wasn't sure if Isaac was happy or shocked with what I said. A few minutes later Amy arrived as our food was brought to the table.

Isaac told Amy and her face was a kid in a candy store. She screamed and hugged as I felt people drawing attention to us. I slowly pushed Amy away as she began to tell me that he's coming in a few minutes. I begin to eat my pasta slowly as Amy she eats anything that you put in front of her yet she's still skinny. One time she did a chicken wing challenge to finish 200 chicken wings in an hour and a half. She finished it in forty-five minutes. That was how Isaac fell in love with her. He wanted a woman that wasn't afraid to eat and be pretty at the same time. " There he is!" Isaac stood up as two other member from Isaac business came up to hug him. I ignore the guy greetings as I saw Amy giving me hints. I mouth ' Is that him?' With that Amy expression was really happy. She shook her head as the guy i'm hooked up with sat next to me.

He was facing the other direction as I looked up to see the back of his head. I saw a birthmark that looked so familiar and I triggered me to ask who he was. I saw Amy giving signals to Isaac that made him look the strange guy and I. " Hey Jin why don't you introduce yourself to the girl we are hooking you up with." Less than a second he faced me as he looked so familiar. " Hi i'm isaac's best friend Kim seok Jin, but you can call me Jin." He took out his hand as I took out mine to shake. His eyes were this pretty shade of brown as his laughter was like a little kid. He was pretty good looking for a guy Amy picked out for me.

" Hey you look familiar did you go to," Jin paused for a second. " Did you go to TreScott high school?" Those words he said to me made me remember a painful memory. I knew who he is and I knew about his birthmark. I used to stare at the back of his head and study him carefully and closely. He was my first love, my first love indeed. " Hey Amy, i'm going to go out for some fresh air. Pay for me and i'll give you any free item from my store." I said in a rush. I grabbed my coat and left quickly as I ran in panic. " Hey wait!" I can tell Amy told him to go follow me but I didn't want no one. I didn't even want to be here. " What's your name?" He asked as I tried to find a way to let my tongue move and my warm breath to hit the cold air. A lot of memories came flooding back on my mind as I tried to stay calm. I thought I buried them, I thought I lost it all. I thought I could finally moved on but no, I can't. " Rosie!" Amy ran towards me. Jin stared at my face for a second before realizing who I was. " Wait you're Rosie Winterbine?!" 

The look on his face knew who I was as Amy took me to the restroom. " Do you know him?" Amy said. Her face looks serious but I didn't want to ruin this special moment for her. " i'll tell you tomorrow." She hugged me as she didn't say anything else. The rest of the evening was quite chattering and filled laughter. I asked to be excused again and went outside in the cold weather. " Rosie?" I looked up to see Jin sitting next to me. We sat there in silence for a what seemed like hours.
