Him

No one ever came for me.

To pull me away from the picture and close the curtains to my room.

And I didn't care.

I stayed there until the sky was completely black in the face and I could no longer see my face in the camera, the painting that sat proudly upon the wall or even the apple that sat before me on the table. But what I did see, was the card in the hand of the arm that would lead me to my answer..

My destiny..

It flashed a glowing slit into my left eye, but yet I still remained until I saw it.. The man.. The mysterious man in the inkblot was now standing with his back turned away from me, seemingly staring at something that wasn't there. But how could he see past a black, silk tie that was wrapped around his eyes? Suddenly, I could see as if I were standing right behind him as he was slowly taking off his blindfold. He sunk down to his knees with a sigh before sharply looking back up at me with eyes that glowed with red tears. I immediately got up and ran out of the room, covering my eyes. I couldn't understand why I was having these visions.

The arms, the cards, the man..

The bed..

Why is all of this haunting my mind?

Once I had turned the corner, I took in a deep breath and leaned up against the wall for support. I shook my head as I looked at my hands. There's no way that I could've ever been that man..

I didn't bother to look back at the room because I was too terrified to see what was there. So, I kept walking as if I knew where I was going. I don't exactly know how to get back to my room because I've always been dragged there. I've never physically walked back to my room. I think I did a good job with finding my way back, though because I arrived back in what looked to be my room. The only difference was that it felt different coming into the room.. It was like I felt an aura..

A presence of someone

Or something else..

I stood in the opening of the curtains and rubbed my face as I shook it. When I finally looked back up, there he was. Sitting with his legs crossed on the other bed. I paused before leaning on the wall that was right behind my bed.

"You're new here?" I was surprised to hear my own voice again. I had forgotten how it sounded. Yet, still, I kept my hands placed the pockets of my pants.

He didn't speak or even look at me. He just kept his attention focused on the wall as if he were looking at something that just wasn't there.. I looked at him for a while before getting into my bed once more to complete another day, but I didn't lay down. I just sat there on the bed with my legs crossed, like his, and tried to mimic his actions as I tried to see what he was seeing. But after a while of staring, I shook my head and sighed.

"What's your name?" I said with my head down before I looked up at him. "Do you even have a name?" I felt a chill creep up my body and clench tightly onto my stomach and chest as if a breeze was blowing through here. His head slowly began to turn and by the time that his face had become parallel with mine, my stomach had already run away into the darkness of the palace in hopes of being safer there. But I had frozen stiffly into place..

This man was the mysterious man that I had seen in my previous nights of dreams and daytime visions that lead me nowhere but in a frenzy. I tried to shake off the feeling and say that it's just by coincidence, but one look at him sent chills all over my body. My mind kept on flipping back and forth between my mind and reality.

Comparing,

Contrasting,

Comparing,

Contrasting..

But yet, I still decided to keep my thoughts a secret. He just kept staring at me with the same mysterious face. I couldn't even hear him breathe.

"You remind me of someone.. Someone that I used to know.." I stared as I laid the hairs on the back of my neck down again. "I apologize for staring." His gaze stayed locked on me and I couldn't shake the feeling off to save my life. I rubbed my fingers on the back of my head as I looked down. The mysterious man was all I saw. Perched perfectly in the middle of the floor.

Head down,

Hands covering his face,

Red tears dripping through his fingers..

Yet he made no sound,

Nor did he move.

He was just there.. Crying blood in a pool of sweat..

But why?

Why was this mysterious man crying in a pool sweat and bloody tears?

I came back to reality breathing hard with my hands clasped over my ears and drenched in sweat. I looked at my hands. They were shiny and glistening with my sweat. I sighed and looked up.

The mysterious man was gone..

I looked around to see if he was anywhere else in the room, but he wasn't. I sighed and relaxed. I let my head lay back as my hand supported my body on the bed. My feet were hanging off the bed. I felt a slight chill as I let out a light breath.
