We've completely lost track of time. Two lattes and a shared scone later, I'm checking my phone to see that it's already six o'clock. I ordered my first drink at three. I slide my phone back into my pocket and carry on listening to the story Harry was telling me.
"- So by then my mum was getting mad at me for screwing up the recipe, and then I threw a handful of flour at her, and Gemma cracked an egg on my head, it turned into a full food fight." I laugh loudly, picturing him with egg yolk dripping from his curls."Now she doesn't let Gemma and I cook together."
"Your family seems really funny, I like it."
"Just wait until you hear all of the stories from when we were little," he chuckles as he pushes his hair to the side.
"Looking forward to it," I say smiling."We should probably go now, shouldn't we?" I ask, eyeing the darkening sky.
"Yeah, I guess so," he says sighing. I reluctantly stand, and follow him to his car that's parked outside. He opens the door of a black range rover, holding it open for me to climb in. I say my thanks, smiling awkwardly. He jogs around to the other side while I buckle myself in. He turns the radio on to a random channel as he pulls out of his parking spot.
"So where does your aunt live?" He asks, unsure of which direction to go. I quickly point to the left as he comes to a stop sign.
"Holborn, do you know where it is?" He nods his head, taking another turn.
"It's close to where I live now, only about a 15 minute drive from my place." He hums along to the song on the radio, an unfamiliar tune to me."So tell me more about your family, I feel like we spent the entire time talking about me," he says, sounding slightly upset.
"Well we talked a little about Ari," I remind him."And where I was from," I point out."I'm living with my mom, dad, and Ari right now. Ari and I are both going to a university close to our house. I also have a brother, his names Jake. He's going to a college a few hours away, but he comes home whenever he can. Our family likes to be together as much as possible."
"That's like my family a little. Since I'm away a lot of the time, whenever I come home we try to be around each other a lot."
"Before I forget, give me your phone."
"Why?" he asks, already digging into his pocket to retrieve the device. He types in his number code then hands it over to me.
"So I can put my number in it," I blush. I tap on the keys to hide my discomfort, then hand it back once my number is in his contact list.
"When do you have to go away again?" I ask, changing the subject to avoid any further embarrassment. His expression changes back and forth between excitement and sadness.
"We're on break for a while, but we still have to go to the studio, make a few appearances at some places, and soon we'll have to meet up to start going over the stage set up. The next tour doesn't officially start until the end of April."
"It's the big one on the end," I point to aunt Kathy's house at the end of the street so I don't have to answer. He stops the car in the driveway, then steps out. I do the same, and meet him in front of the car."I had a lot of fun today," I tell him, smiling.
"Me too, I'd like to do this again soon, if you'd like?" He asks nervously. I nod my head, smiling again."Maybe even tomorrow?"
"Starbucks two days in a row is too much for me," I joke.
"I was thinking maybe dinner instead of half a scone," he replies smoothly.
"That would be nice."
