Chapter 4: Limerence

I woke up to the sound of my blaring alarm clock and groaned upon realizing that I forgot to turn off my alarm as for today was the weekend. Hiyori planned on going out today and she invited me. I had no idea where she planned on going she told me 'wherever the wind takes us', I thought she was trying to be Pocahontas but then realized she was trying to be funny. I was going to meet her under the cherry blossom tree near the river by 12:00 pm, I looked at my clock and it was 7:00 am. Since the clock woke me up there was no way I could fall back asleep even when I try or not. I got off of my bed, opened the curtains to see the beautiful dawn for a few minutes and went down to my bathroom. I took a shower and went downstairs to the kitchen to find my mom and dad. They turned their glance to me as I sat down across from my father.

"Honey why are you awake so early? It's the weekend." My mother asked. My mother and father were always the first people to wake up, as they had work at early in the morning to midnight. They were rarely free but they would easily excuse themselves from their job if there was something important happening like birthdays, holidays, festivals, gathering all that kind of stuff.

"I forgot to turn off my alarm clock, so it woke me up. I couldn't get back to sleep." I responded. As she handed me my breakfast that was in the oven to save it for later when I was suppose to wake up. My dad and mom was done with breakfast as they put away their dishes.

"Oh I'll wash the dishes dear" Lailani suggested. Lailani was our nanny or rather Saki's nanny.

"You sure? I still have time before I get to work." My mom reassured. Lailani shook her head, "No it's okay dear, you know you take a long time just to wash dishes. Now go!" Lailani ordered. She was also respected as she was the oldest in the house. She wasn't our related grandmother but we always treated her like family, she might be an old woman but she got a whole lot to show. Her life was very different. She took care of Saki so I won't have to when my parents had gone off to work. She doesn't go outside much when we suggest it to her, she always quote "I'm old, I have nothing to do with this body of mine, now go youngsters and live your life when you still have one!" I always thought that wasn't it suppose to be the opposite?

I finished off my breakfast and took it to the sink and started scrubbing off the sediments until my wrist was grabbed. I looked to my side to see Lailani. "Here I'll take it from here." She ordered. I shook my head, " No it's okay, Mama Lani I'll do it since I have nothing to do." I groaned. I put my pouty face on and stared at her. "Aish, you are like your father. Okay go do it I'll go to the garden and water the plant." She said.

"Mama Lani you can just turn on the sprinklers." I suggested.

"Don't you guys know how to not waste water?" She questioned as she had gone out the backyard door. As soon as I was done I walked upstairs and grabbed my laptop to my bed and watched my favorite show until it was 11:00 am.

After 4 hours of Tv time. I got ready into my clothes and grabbed my bag with the stuff in it. I mentioned to Lailani that I was gonna be out and headed outside. I walked all the way to the cherry blossom tree Hiyori told me about near the river..

Yato P.O.V

As I was writing down my business contact on the billboard, there was a sudden regret overwhelming me from yesterday. I stopped and looked over the city, and started jumping from building to building. I glance down and suddenly spotted Hiyori walking down the streets dressed up casually. I wonder where she's heading? I jumped down next to Hiyori.

She jumped and looked at me, " You know you got to stop appearing like that." She complained.

"So where ya goin'?" I asked ignoring what she just said. She sighed, "I'm meeting up with Hisano under the cherry blossom tree and show her around since she's new in town." She admitted.
