SIXduring the course of many hours and multiple strikes on the old clock; the newbie was under her senior's presence seemingly at all times. not that this were a bad thing, fei observed her partner well and smiled towards the nights closing moments.
they once again stood beside display cases, selling the last of the day's honey dumpling special, a timid voice flows within the mix of grinding cinnamon and coffee beans.
"I'm glad I got to spend the day working beside you, I'm starting to learn to understand you better."
inha briefly seems interested but licks her lips and turns away, focusing on the warmth of water burning her palms a new shade of flushed pink while pouring an old man his takeout cup.
"you love to work and take it seriously. sometimes it's confused for you being unapproachable or out of our league but really you're just caught up in doing what you love...right? you just love baking."
consciously, inha covers her face with the palms of her dough dried hands. hiding the radiation of her cheeks.
"I respect that. I might not be as devoted or as good, but we can both continue to share our love for baking."
slowly inha watches fei pack up her bags, quick to punch out, the girl steps from behind the counter and smiles lightly, wiggling her fingers in a attempted wave, shoes mixing tapping and squeaking against the creaky wooden floors while making her exit out the front door.
the wind forcefully slams the door behind her and the welcome bell hums its sweet song; inha turned to herself, head shaking and lips twitching. slowly her eyes resurfaced to the place fei last stood and caught herself hiccup a laugh.
