I picked up my phone. She explained to me that she would be thirty minutes late. I wouldn't argue. I knew she was busy at work. I hung up and took a quick glance at Hale. He was looking straight at me, so I looked away quick.

"Who was that?" he said, still looking at me.

"Oh that was my step mom, Lin. She's gonna be late." I said looking at the pavement beneath my feet. I looked back up and looked at him. He opened his mouth to say something, but somebody was screaming his name.

"Hale! Hale!" a girl shouted as she got closer to us. I looked over my shoulder to see who it was. It was a girl from my class, but I couldn't remember her name.

"Great." I heard Hale mumble. He turned around and waved.

She ran into his arms and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

"Hey, Ashlyn. What are you doing here? I thought you moved." he said looking at her with a confused smile.

"No silly! I said I was going to move next year! But I'm here now. Did you miss me?" she said giving him a big hug and looking into his eyes. A very, very small part of me went jealous. I decided to walk home. It wasn't too far, just a mile and a half. Luckily I was wearing flip flops, and not heels. I looked back and Hale was kissing that girl.

I was walking for ten minutes, before Hale drove up beside me. I started to roll down his windows, so I sped up my pace. I could have kept walking on, but I decided to go through a trail that I didn't recognize just to get away from Hale. I looked back, and saw that his car stopped at where the trail began, I started to run. Before I knew it, everything went black.

People ask what it's like to be unconscious. Well to answer that, it wasn't all that great.

I woke up slowly and heard somebody talk into a phone. I recognized it. And I didn't want to.

"Hello? Hello? Sorry, there's bad reception up here in the woods..." he paused and looked at me. "...yea she's up now. She's fine now. Yes I know your address. Yes, I will bring her ASAP. Okay, I will Linda. I think I should tend to her and safe driving. Bye." he hung up and lifted me up.

"Are you alright Natasha?" asking me while putting away my cell phone into my purse. What was he doing in there? Was he stalking me?

"Natasha, have you gained full consciousness yet?" He asked me again. Even though I could barely speak yet, I used most of my energy to speak.

"Hale, I feel cold." I could barely speak the words, but when I did, he grabbed me and embraced me as I was something delicate.

"It'll be alright Natasha. Just go to sleep, trust me." he said. He kissed my forehead, and stroked my hair.

"Hale, who was that girl?" I felt so weak saying it, but for some reason, I found myself saying those words.

"She was nobody, trust me and go to sleep." he said while hugging me tighter into his embrace.

"Okay..."
