When the bell rang I went outside and waited for Hale to come out. I saw him flirting with some girl, of course, but I yanked him away. He apologized to the girl, gave her a wink and looked at me. In an annoyed tone he said, "What the hell do you want now!"
I was kinda shocked at his rudeness. Who was he?
"You need to explain to me why you saved me yesterday. And what really happened when you dropped me off at home." he looked around to see if anybody was watching and stopped time.
"Natasha, I'm just looking out for you. I want to say that what happened yesterday was real. I just had to communicate to you in a different way. The bond is real. But I just don't have those feelings for you anymore. You'll always have a special place in my heart. I was trying to distance myself from you so you wouldn't get hurt. I realized yesterday that love that I felt for you was just a relief to see you. But then I felt that I didn't love you that way anymore. I'm sorry."
All I could do was stand there. So many thoughts were racing through my mind. I couldn't speak. I was just so shocked. I felt something warm kiss my cheek. Hales lips.
"Maybe one day we can be friends. I'm again so sorry."
He unfroze time and walked away. I still stood there. I heard a familiar voice call my name.
"Natasha, are you alright?" It was Holten. I soon realized that I was crying.
"Uh, yeah, just a bad day..." I looked away and tried to walk away from him. But he followed me.
"Hey, why don't we talk it out? I'll buy ice creams!" he tried to look into my face with a smile. I guess I could go for one. I mean ice cream is my favorite dessert and it always cheers me up. I gave a small smile.
"Sure that sounds lovely."
I forgot that he was a sophomore and he could drive. He had a super nice Mustang. It was a two seater, red, and sleek. I called Lin to let her know that I was getting some ice cream with a friend.
Once we got to the ice cream shop we ordered and sat down.
"So what's been buggin' you?" he said as he licked his ice cream.
"I just got word that my... ex... I guess isn't really in love with me. He just thought he was but then realized he really wasn't." I looked away and tried to hold my tears back. Too much drama for only two days. My heart couldn't handle this.
"Hey, it's okay. We all go through this. Sometimes this happens because you're meant to end up with somebody better for you." I looked up and saw that his eyes were locked on mine. We stares at each other for several seconds. He finally broke the tension.
"Uh... So how do you... Uh...like the ice cream?!"
I laughed softly. Nice way to turn things around.
"Honestly, it's super good! I love the brownie bits in this coffee ice cream! But thanks for taking me out here. I really need it." I gave him a sweet smile. And he returned it with one of his. We talked for a couple hours. We discussed our favorite movies, music, tv shows, you name it. I felt really good being with him.
I looked down at my phone and saw that it was six.
"Crap! It's getting late. I have to be home soon!"
"No worries, Natasha. I'll drop you at home now."
When we got to my house, I got out of his car and thanked him for the ride. I started to walk out to the front door when I heard Holten yell something.
"Wait! Natasha you forgot this!" But he had nothing in his hand. But before I knew it he kissed me on the cheek. But this kiss left a hot tingling sensation. I started to blush. I looked up at him. He had a really shy smile. Awh, he's so cute. "Bye Holten, I'll see you tomorrow." I gave him a big smile that time and went inside.
