Chapter 2 - Light Yagami

I had a plan, a plan that would get me close enough to L. Luckily for me I was smart, as smart as Light. It was such a shame that I dropped out of school. I had been here for a few months now; I had lost track. Today was my first day at To-oh university. Although it was already halfway through the year they still let me apply. I would be starting 6 months late. I picked up my bag and walked out the door. I didn't know who was paying for me to stay here but whoever it was it was probably the person who left the note. I had no need to work so I spent my time studying and coming up with a viable plan to get to L. I had to save him, especially after that stunt he pulled with Lind L. Tailor.

I sat at the back of the bus and lost myself in my thoughts and pulled out the note. I had always kept it in my pocket no matter what. It was the most mysterious thing yet, but I felt like it's all I knew. It made me feel safe. "For You, my dear (Y/N). Everything will be explained with time. ~ Lawliet" I whispered under my breath. I folded it back up and put it back in my pocket. I knew that this reality was real, no doubt about it. I did not miss my old life, nothing about it. Although I had no friends here either I was free. Anyway, I was about to make a new friend, Light Yagami, Kira.

I walked into the lecture room. I was late by about five minutes. "I'm sorry professor, my bus was late." He nodded and I looked for a place to sit. Today must be my lucky day. There he was, Light Yagami and there was a free seat next to him. I walked up the stairs and sat down. "Hello, I'm (Y/N)." I did not want to give out my last name since he was Kira.

"Light Yagami." He shook my hand. "Nice to meet you (Y/N)- "He trailed off, indicating for a last name.

"Oh, I don't know my real name. I was abandoned when I was a toddler." I lied.

"I'm very sorry to hear that."

"It's nothing. I've moved on." The class dragged on, I knew it already. Luckily I had been studying. I could tell that Light felt the same. I nudged him with my elbow. "Umm I was wondering that when you have a break that you and me could hang out or something. It's just that I just moved here and I don't know anyone. Not even the old crazy cat lady next door." I joked.

"No it's all ok. I would like to get to know you better too, (Y/N)."

"Great!" I smiled. "It really means a lot to me." Once class had finished we walked down the courtyard path. We talked about our pasts and what our interests were. I already knew everything about him, but I wasn't going to tell him that.

"Hey, Light." A voice called. I saw a man with dark raven hair wearing faded baggy jeans and a loose white sleeved shirt. I knew this man, it was him. The person who I had been looking for, the person I was going to save. L.
