I walked into my kitchen to make everyone lunch, Matsuda offered to help but I was scared that he'd blow something up. I decided to make one of L's favourite "meals" which was obviously cake. I wasn't the best cook but I tried my best. Back home in my other life I usually relied on take away and leftover scraps from work. I opened the flower and it exploded all over me and the kitchen, I sneezed and cursed under my breath. I groaned as I spilled some of the cake batter onto the recipe book and basically everywhere on the bench. "Are you sure you don't need some help (Y/N)?" Matsuda asked.

"N-No, thanks for offering though." He gave me a disappointed smile and left. Once I had gotten the cake into the oven I leaned against the bench and sighed heavily at all the mess I made. I hear footsteps enter from the door behind me. I turn around and see L and my cheeks start to heat up. I bite the inside of my cheek trying to make the feeling go away. He took his hands out of his jeans and took a cloth from the counter then walked over to me. I looked down shyly as he brought it up to my face and wiped off the flour and cake batter. I moved a strand of hair behind my ear. "Umm, s-so about last night..." I trail off and move one arm across my body.

"I'm sorry if that made you feel uncomfortable." He says quietly in his monotone voice.

"No!" I said a bit too loudly. "I-I mean, it's ok." He let out a small rare smile and continued to wipe the muck off then threw the cloth in the sink. When I looked back up I saw how noticeably close he was to my face. "I should pack this up." I move away from him only to slip. I wait for the impact but it never comes. I felt arms wrap tightly around my waist and my body being lifted back up. His warm tall body pressed up against mine. We stand there for a moment then I break away. He intertwines his hand in mine then drops it and shoves it back in his pocket.

"(Y/N), I don't like hurting a woman's feelings but last night was mainly to-"

"Shut me up." I finish for him. He nods in response. "No hard feelings I smile at him." And give his arm a playful punch.

"B-But (Y/N), I just want to say that I like you." My mouth gapes open and my heart flips. "Like, a crush..." He trails off and scratches the back of his head. I am frozen to the spot, unable to move and hardly able to breathe.

"I-I like you too." I give him a small smile and jump up to kiss his cheek. With embarrassment I run out of the room and join the others like nothing was wrong. I quickly peer back into the kitchen and see that he is still standing there rubbing his cheek with shock. I curl up into a ball on the sofa and let out a small squeal.
