After Creek has asked me out, Branch seemed a lot more miserable, I don't really understand why he would not talk to me. We stopped hanging out and walking to school together and my plan to make him happy has failed. I always wonder what colour Branch would have been if he wasn't grey. Maybe he would be green! Or yellow, or red! I remember one day when I sort of saw colour in his eyes and a faint smile, we were playing in the park and I was twirling and singing and laughing. I fell on my butt and he lightly smiled so I cheered more taking his hand, he twirled me a few times and I fell into his arms. His eyes shined and I started singing from happiness. "And I need you now tonight And I need you more than ever And if you only hold me tight We'll be holding on forever"
He closed his eyes in pain pushing me away and I never saw their true colour again.
