Two days later… “So you want us to go today or tomorrow?” I asked Bishop, who once again, popped his ugly ass up at my house. “Yeah, I got all the money I need this time, I promise. Count it.” He didn’t have to tell us twice. Malina went to pull out that money machine so fast. It was early in the morning and I was still trying to sleep. But money was more important. He was early on the payment, but that was cool. I know Jinx said three weeks, but this was better. After leaving the hotel, Malina and I put a down payment on a new apartment for Tokyo and Tori. But first, I made them promise not to kill each other. They had to stay together because I didn’t want neither one of them in our business. They were family, but even family would take all you had if they needed it. And they too needed it. Besides, Malina and I were about to move anyway. Too many niggas were running their mouths about our whereabouts, and I didn’t like it. “Where Glory at?” Malina asked as she put the bills into the machine in order. “Shit, that nigga been fucking with some chick. They been chilling real tough,” he said. All I could do was laugh on the inside. I knew who

Glory was with. He was chilling with Tokyo. I know because she asked me for his number the other night at the hotel. “Yeah, he with Tokyo,” Malina said. “Y’all cousin Tokyo?” Bishop asked. “Yep,” Malina said. “Oh yeah? Damn. How you know?” I asked, playing stupid. “I pulled up on her the other night to apologize and that nigga was in there. Shit, I asked him was that the reason he stood me up,” she said as she stacked the money each time it left the machine. “What he say?” Bishop asked, instigating. “He told the truth. So I was like fuck it and went back into my room to call my boo.” “What? You got a boo now? Who?” Bishop asked. “She ain’t gonna tell you,” I said, shaking my head. “I already asked.” “C’mon, Malina. Let a nigga know something.” “Nah. He don’t like people in our business.” “Well, bitch, you stay in my business,” I said. “You ain’t got no business. Ya ass is boring,” she said. “So how much is that?” Bishop asked when he saw that she was coming to an end. “$500,000 even,” she responded.

“Now run us our $80,000,” I said with my hand out. “What? I thought it was $75,000?” He asked as he dug through his other bag. “We had to tax you for that bullshit you pulled last time,” I said. “Oh y’all wanna do a nigga in? Okay. Bet that,” he said, tossing our money on the table. “Count that too,” I told Malina. “Go head, nigga. It’s all there. Told y’all I wouldn’t do y’all like that again.” “We definitely will not take your word for it,” Malina said as she ran the crisp bill through. “Bishop, don’t trip,” I said as I lightly tapped his leg. He was looking mad. But how? On the cool, I didn’t have to do this for him. Who would after what he did? The money was okay, but betrayal was a bitch. “It’s all here,” she said as she tossed me my half. “See y’all niggas when y’all get back,” he said as he left. “I guess he mad,” Malina said as she took out her phone to see when was the earliest we could rent an SUV. “We should just get our own truck to do this shit,” I said. “Yeah? Not right now. Our money not that good to be splurging. Apparently we take care of Tokyo and Tori now, and we still have to get PJ back. Time is run

running out,” she said, using her head for the first time. “Shit, we wouldn’t even know where to start with Bleek. But she said Slick knew who he was. Do you mind asking him?” I asked her. “Nah, I don’t mind. As a matter of fact, since we leaving in the morning, I’ll go right now. Don’t wanna waste any time. You know?” “Yeah, I feel you. Well go now while you can still catch him. Know once he get his day started it be hard to catch him,” I said as I grabbed Bishop’s money and my money to put it up. “I’m about to leave now. I need the keys to the truck.” I tossed her the keys and she was on her way.
