You were waiting outside Flourish and Blotts while your mother went in to buy your books, the Guildroy Lockhart ones. You knew that you would be waiting awhile for her to come out, she was absolutely obsessed with him, something to which your father never stopped teasing her about. You were doing your school shopping with Mary Beth and your parents. Mary Beth had gone to get some ice-cream while you waited for your mother.

"Hey Y/N, fancy seeing you here. I thought you would be inside with all the other fan-witches and trying desperately to get Guildroy to sign your book and give you a wink." Draco Malfoy had appeared, smirking mischievously.

"Malfoy, how lovely to see you," You answered sarcastically. "I'm good, I don't mind if you take my place. Maybe you'd have a better chance than me of getting a wink, seeing that you have enough luck to get that broom there."

"Ah, you like brooms then?" He gave you a look like he couldn't believe it.

"Yeah," you nod your head. "I recognize a good quality one when I see it. Besides, I'm trying out for Slytherin Chaser. I presume you are going to try out for the Slytherin team this year...?"

"Yeah. I want to be Seeker." He looked proud of himself.

"Ah, so you want to get one over Potter do you." You grinned mischievously, "Well, if you really want to prove that you're better, I saw him go into Flourish and Blotts with the Weasleys-"

Draco interrupted you. "Blood traitors."

You glared at him. "The Weasleys," you repeated forcefully. "He's trying to get his book signed I think, if you went in and got your book signed and a wink, well... I think that he'd be very jealous." You nearly laughed at Draco's determined expression.

"Very well, I shall talk to you later." And with that he entered the crowded shop and you shook your head and laughed.

In Madame Malkin's you ran into Emma and Molly. Literally. Emma had accidentally shoved Molly, who slipped on a piece of cloth and slid and crashed into you as you were entering the shop. "Hey Princess!" Emma grins from behind a rack of clothes as Molly pulls herself up off the ground, dusts herself off, and shakes your hand.

 "Hello Y/N."

You shake your head and laugh. They were so completely different; it was amazing they were friends. You talked about the upcoming school year as you each took turns getting fitted for your robes. Emma was absolutely sure that Gryffindor was going to win the House Cup, while Molly was hoping to join the Gobstones Club. Mary Beth told them all about all the classes she was going to take as soon as she got the chance. You of course, couldn't wait for the for the Slytherin Quidditch team tryouts. You had been training all summer. You all finished your shopping together, and then you all went to Molly's house in Oxford to spend the night, which you spent playing two on two Quidditch.

You managed to find an empty compartment in the train this year without bumping into anyone. You left Tundra curled up asleep in his carrier as you read over Guildroy Lockhart's book. You heard the door slide open and someone walk in, and sit across from you. You looked up to see Draco Malfoy, Crabbe, and Goyle, unsmiling as always.

"Yes, you may sit here." You said sarcastically. "What do you want Malfoy?"

"You sent me into that shop and I got mauled by witches." He glared at you. "And Potter got a bloody photograph with Lockhart."

"Uh-huh, how very lovely for him."

"I thought you didn't like him," he said, peering at the title of the book you were reading.
