Back at the hallway, David Thompson was busy talking to the teacher about some question papers. He went to go to his locker to bring some question papers he had bought. It was then he noticed a girl disappearing onto the direction of the old part of the building, just like he saw in this morning. He was starting to follow her when the teacher called him, “David, did you get them?”
David shut his locker and returned to the teacher, who told him to follow him. David glanced back before he followed the teacher. It took him an hour to get release from the teacher, who was surprised at his hurry. He was starting to go to the old part of the building when Elena interrupted him, “Did you see Bunny?”
“Bunny...?” David was getting frustrated. First the teacher, now some bunny.
In the other world ‘of magic’, Queen Isabella was sitting on her throne. She was very kind because her subjects ‘of the kind’ were loyal to her. The kingdom was peaceful at the moment when suddenly there was a noise of the flapping of the wings.
“What is it? Is it some kind of flying vampire?” Queen Isabella stood straight. Recently, the kingdom was being attacked with the vampires, certain ones who were gifted with wings, which can only be used when the sunlight touched them.
“I’ll see, Your Highness.” Zisana turned around and bumped onto the guard. The guard apologized politely, then turned and bowed to the Queen, “Your Highness, the princess is here.”
Queen Isabella gave the permission to enter, and a girl entered. She was wearing a white gown, the sunlight making her green eyes sparkle and her brown hair glisten along with her pure white wings. She bowed to the Queen, who smiled, “So you have come, my child. I am so happy to see you. What are up to really? Where have left your human body?”
“I...am fine, Your Highness. I am attending a college, and there’s a old part of it...I have left my disguise there...I have come to say that there’s a danger approaching...and I would like to...help my people...”
The Queen cut her off, “Young lady, I thank you but we are taking care of that...”
“But Your Highness...”
“I DO NOT WANT MY DAUGHTER TO BE IN DANGER!” The Queen was standing now. Jean nodded and continued boldly “It lives in the human world. I...”
Suddenly her voice faltered, remembering that her mother called her ‘daughter’ after many days. The Queen said, “You do not need to come into this, my child. I am sure we can prevent it.”
“NO!” The princess paused, “I mean it is a creature that you do not have any knowledge about...and besides, it...”
“Is there anything that’s bothering you? I can sense something...don’t try to hide anything from me...tell it.” The Queen caressed her daughter’s brown hair. It reminded her of the touch of the hair. Brown hair, sparkling eyes, the bright smile......the Queen put those thoughts away.
Jean was melting under her mother’s touch...her mother never had any time for her...she barely got the chance to get any motherly affection. She was quiet for a minute and slowly said, “It’s coming for me...”
“What? Why...” the Queen sat down. “Mother, I don’t know what’s happening but I can assure you I will be alright.”
“No, my child...do not utter such nonsense. I won’t let you go to the human world...I’ll...”
“No, Your Highness...I must go...I am glad to see you all again...I am sorry...”
“No...stay a bit longer...”
“Someone is coming...they’ll find me dead. Goodbye...Your Highness.”
The Queen watched her daughter fly away and thought about what Jean had said. If that’s true...why was it targeting Jean? Was this the strangeness of Jean’s kind that led it to her? She must find out...
“Zisana...get everything ready. I am going to meet Prince Edmund. I must...”
“But Your Highness...he’s a...”
“...flying vampire. Yeah, I know but there’s no way I’m going to let Jean fall in danger.”
