A portal appears in the middle of a forest, darkness surrounds the blood red light emitted. The large, dark brown trees around the mysterious portal slowly crack under the dark, ominous aura before crumbling to ash. A girl steps out of the portal into the darkness of the night before vanishing in the shadows of the remaining forest, the portal collapsing behind her.
In the morning, guards awake from their slumbers and take their positions in the castle and the walls surrounding. Chatter can be heard from the guards as they rush out into the marketplace to head to the walls and castle.
As a guard starts her patrol she just so happens to see the part of the forest that was destoyed by the portal.
She immediately exclaimed, "What happened to the forest?!"
Another guard rushed to her and said, "Hopefully it wasn't supernatural beings again, you remember last time this happened right Ava?"
Ava shouts back, "Yea I remember Dante!!! I was the one that had to report it!"
Dante shifts his weight and moves away from Ava a bit and replies, "Sheesh, you don't have to yell. A simple yes would have been sufficient."
Ava grabs Dante by his sheathed sword and says calmly but loudly, "You know, Dante, you don't have to be such a smart aleck!"
Dante drags himself away slowly, mumbling to himself, "I'm going to go tell Lord Faith about this, follow me if you will be calm and quiet Ava."
