ALEXA
Light streamed through Alexa's eyelids, staining her vision red. She groaned and rolled over, feeling the soft comfort of the bed beneath her. Wait a second- the soft comfort of the bed beneath her- she had fallen asleep on the couch, which certainly wasn't soft or comfortable. Plus she hadn't fallen off yet- and she had room. Where the hell was she? Then, the strangeness of the night before came flooding back to her. The fire- and the fact she wasn't bothered by it. Bracing herself for whatever was to come, Alexa opened her eyes.
The first thing she saw was the ceiling. It was pastel pink. Ew. Her gaze flickered around the room. The walls were a darker shade of pink, and even the polished floorboards had a distinct pink tinge. The furniture was also pink. The room was about the size of Alexa's whole house.
"She's awake!" A lilting voice exclaimed.
What on earth? The voice belonged to a girl, a couple of inches shorter than Alexa who had bouncy, honey blonde hair, tanned skin and chartreuse coloured eyes. Alexa started upon the realisation that the girl had wings. Was she... a fairy? Weren't fairies supposed to be tiny? This must be a dream, she thought.
"Hello! My name is Summer! You must be Alexa! Anything I can do for you, before we- oops! It's a surprise, never mind! Anything I can do for you?"
"Tell me who the hell you are, and where I am!" Alexa snapped, agitated.
"I already told you my name, silly," Summer giggled, "Anything else?"
Alexa stared at the beaming fairy for a second, before asking, "Can you get me out of here?"
"Nope, sorry!" It was the answer she had expected.
Oh well, it was worth a try.
"Are you a fairy? And can you change the colours to red? Bright red?"
After explaining, as if she could read minds, that not all fairies were small, she waved her hand in a fascinating but odd gesture so that the floorboards now held a red tinge and the walls and ceiling were... oh. Pale red. Was that possible? Wasn't that just pink? But no, it had less of that flamboyant disgusting hint, and she supposed anything was better than what it had been before.
"Alright, now if that's all, we must get you ready. We mustn't be late to... Oops! Natalia! Lavender! Flavia! Get to work, girls!"
Three fairies, who were, this time, miniature, entered the room. They were dressed in red. Hmm... This might be better than I thought it would be. But no, it wasn't. They approached her, their wings fluttering, holding... A dress. Makeup. Other things Alexa had never wanted to use in her life.
They directed her to a door which lead to a bathroom. A swimming pool- wait no, a bath- sat in the corner, filled with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and the like. There were at least 50 totalled there. Thankfully, the fairies left her alone to bathe. Settling on a shampoo that smelled of strawberries, conditioner of pomegranate and body wash of lilies, Alexa felt refreshed despite all that had happened in one night and one morning.
She realised how weirdly she had acted in this situation. Shouldn't she be running around, screaming? What about her mom? In contrary to this, she felt as though what she was doing was right. Stepping out of the bath, she wrapped her body in a towel, preparing herself for the hell she was about to face.
The fairies dressed her in a modest red dress, with white flame designs etched in the hem and waist. The colour was pretty, but Alexa hated dresses. The very sight of them repulsed her. She was grateful she was given flats to wear instead of high heels, and they were also red. They did her hair in simple braid and barely put makeup on her at all. Alexa had expected a full on session of terror. But it wasn't that bad, and she was relieved.
