"Calista!" yelled my brother, Jayden, "come on!"
"Coming Jay!" I said.
I scurried down the hallway. I'm around 16 and I still can't figure out the ways of these halls. Our castle was huge and tonight we're having a ball. I don't particularly know why though.
"Ok, I'm here!" I said.
"Good!" replied Jayden, "come on Cal, you've got to get better at being on time!"
"I know, I know, I'm sorry Jay," I said.
He then looked at my face.
"I'm sorry Cal," he replied.
"Aww you do care!" I said.
"Shut up!" he said jokingly, "Let's go in."
"Okay," I said. I stopped him from going in.
"What?" said Jayden.
"Do you know why we're having this party?" I asked.
"No, I just know he really wants us to be there," said Jayden.
We then walked into the hall. The herald The started to speak just as we walked in.
"Now announcing the royal siblings known as Princess Calista Kase and Prince Jayden Kase," said the herald.
I had to walk down the stairs with Jayden. I don't know why though, curtesy maybe. Our castle was so grand. Everyone was so nice though.
"Cal!" yelled my boyfriend Connor.
"Connor!" I said as I ran up to him.
I'd known Connor ever since I was little. Our parents both ruled kingdoms and had an alliance. So we both hung out a lot and eventually started dating.
"Missed you so much" I said.
"Missed you too Cal!" Connor replied.
"Hey, even though I doubt you know. Do you know why my family is having a ball tonight?" I asked.
"Um... no actually I don't," he replied, "It has to be important though, the most important kingdoms are here."
Everyone keeps saying that. Why is this all important? Are Jayden and I getting arranged marriages? I'm too young to get married! I thought to myself.
"Cal, Cal, CALISTA!" yelled Connor.
"What?" I said.
"Are you ok?" he asked.
"Oh yeah, sorry," I said.
"Attention!" said my father, "we are here to celebrate who will become the heir to my throne."
I then saw Jayden walking over to me.
"Hey," I said, "good luck."
"Thanks same to you," replied Jayden.
I know Jayden wanted this badly and since he's older than me it would make sense.
"This person has worked hard and is kind to their people, optimistic, happy, smart, good looking, and has a good sense of humor too," said my father.
