I slowly opened my eyes. The curtains were open so the bright sunlight was let in. I didn't want to get up. I knew I had to, if I didn't I'd probably be killed. Maybe I wouldn't? I don't know anymore because my father never used to act like this. I was afraid of my father. I guess that's why I didn't want to wake up. I hoped that it was all a dream. I then checked the clock.

10:45 a.m.

Oh thank god! I still have enough time to pack! I then got ready. When I headed to my closet I realized that only one outfit was in my entire closet. It was however appropriate for traveling to somewhere unknown. Did my father take all of my clothes away?! That's just cruel! I went to my brothers room hoping he'd know. I didn't even bother to knock I just opened the door.

"JAYDEN!" I yelled.

"WHAT?! I DIDN'T DO IT!" he yelled.

"JAYDEN, WHY DID FATHER TAKE ALL OF MY CLOTHES FROM ME?!" I yelled.

"He didn't!" he replied calmly.

"THEN WHY ARE ALL OF MY CLOTHES GONE?!" I asked.

"First of all come down! Next, I packed for you, that's why all your clothes are gone," said Jayden.

"Oh sorry I guess I over reacted," I replied.

"Yeah, no joke," he replied.

"Just do you know I can't come back this time, you can't drag me home. Even if I wanted to be," I said in a sad tone.

"I know," he said.

Then he hugged me.

"I'm going to miss you a lot. When father is gone I will have you return," he replied, "now don't do anything too stupid."

"I can't make any promises," I said.

He gave me a glare.

"but, I'll try," I added.

"I'm gonna miss you," he said.

"Same to you," I said.

We just sat there hugging each other for an uncomfortable amount of time but I didn't care. This could be the last time I ever see my brother. The only family member that cared about me. My mom died a few week after I was born. I don't try to think about it too much because whenever I do I feel guilty. Wasn't it her being pregnant with me that killed her? Isn't that how she died. At least maybe she would've cared about me. He then pulled away from the hug and looked at my face.

"Your thinking about mother, aren't you?" he asked.

"How did-"

"I've seen that face on you before and it's only when your thinking about mother," he said.

"You know me way too well that it's like creepy," I said.

"I'll take that as a compliment!" he replied positively.

"Whatever you want to think!" I rolled my eyes.

"Oh it's 11:30!" I looked at the clock and started to panic.

"It's fine let's go to the stables now and get Snow," he replied.

Then we started to run.

"We're here," I said

"We're here," I said.

"Yeah no kidding," he replied.

"I'm just stating facts!" I said.

I then ran towards Snow. She was already and saddled. She even had food and clothing packed on her. I then ran over to Jayden.

"Thank you much!" I said as I hugged him.

"No problem," he replied.

Connor then came into the stables.

"Hey Calista, ready to go?" he asked.

"Connor you really don-"

"Haven't we already been through this?" he asked.

"I know, but still," I replied.

"Come on get on your horse so we can go," said Connor.

I then looked at Jayden. I ran to him with my arms open. When I got to him I hugged him as tight as I could.

"I'm sorry for everything bad I ever did to you, and I love you so much," I said while crying.

" I love you too," he said in a calm voice. I could see it in his eyes he was about to break down.

"You should go now," he said with pain in his eyes.

"Okay," I said sadly while still crying.

Jayden placed me on Snow. All I could look at was Jayden. I was going to miss him so much. More than anything. Jayden started to fade as we went father off into the distance. All I could do was cry. My brother was my only family. At least that loved me. I couldn't worry about him now. Anyway, I know he could take care of himself. Just suck it up and keep going. I thought to myself. I kept putting the thought of Jayden being in danger deeper into my soul. That's what ended up killing me on the inside.
