Both the Authors Note:

Hey everyone! Thanks so much for checking out this story! We hope you enjoy it and stick around to where the story kicks off and gets interesting. (It comes really soon we promise!) We just want to say a BIG shout out to EVERY SINGLE person who's helped us along with this book. Whether it's the fans who've given us endless amounts of support, siblings who've been willing to listen and critique, or the boys themselves for being absolutely perfect and amazing enough to inspire this book. WE LOVE YOU ALL and we're SO HAPPY you can be on this journey with us. It's going to be tough of course... sometimes you'll want to laugh. Sometimes you'll want to cry. And sometimes you'll want to rip the faces off of the dumb ass characters because they make stupid decisions. (Yes that's just the way book writing goes...)

Again, we love and appreciate every single person who's had anything to do with The Price Of Fame.

Some rules before you continue:

5) Last but not least, If you want to help us edit a chapter or a paragraph or anything you see grammatically or spelling wise, wrong, please ask us IN PRIVATE about that. We don’t appreciate our spelling and grammar errors being shown to the world. (cuz I'm sure there will be many from me at least! - Erin) We would love the help if you DO want to though, so please message us if you find a particular spot that was confusing, wrong, etc.

That's it! Hope you enjoy the story everyone! We've put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into this. (Seriously we're not even kidding... *sigh* please don't ask...)

Prologue:

I opened my eyes to see darkness surround me. All I felt was pain: my legs ached, my head throbbed.

Where was I?

With my sight stolen from me, I had to resort to my other senses. I felt the ground gently. It was covered with something gritty that stuck to my skin. Sand? Dirt?

I heard a steady ‘ka-chunk’ noise. Every other second I heard it again. Did that mean I was moving? Or what I was trapped in was moving?

I tried to stand up; forcing my aching muscles to work. Suddenly, the floor jolted and knocked me back down. I lay there, trying to figure out where I was. Why I was there. Trying to remember. I realized that doing nothing would get me nowhere, so instead I began groping blindly in the darkness, trying to find any clue as to where I was. I ran my hand across the place I sat. It met a wall. I kept my hand on the wall, using it to support me as I stood up. I was wearing some sort of dress, because the silky fabric ripped off of the wood floor when I stood. Following the wall, I met a corner. Then, a board, raised about an inch off the wall.

I wrapped my hands around it, and pulled in the opposite direction. It groaned, but didn’t move. A door? I pulled harder, ignoring the sharp pain shooting up my sore fingers. With a loud creek, the door slid open a few inches, and I was blinded by bright light pouring through the crack.

I stumbled backward, trying to shield my face from the burning sun. When my eyes finally adjusted, I looked around the space. It was a rectangular wooden box. I heard the ‘ka-chunk’ noise one more time and put the pieces together. I was in a train car.

I crawled to the door and the fast moving world beyond. Carefully, I gripped the side and looked out. The forest whipped by as the train rumbled on.

It hit a bump and I fell backward; my head banging against the dirty wood floor with a crack. I gasped, rubbing the spot where a bump was already forming.

Suddenly, I remembered a single word, repeated over and over again.

Run.

Not why, or where to run to, just ‘run‘. And as fast as I could. I knew I had to get off that train as soon as possible.

I gave a hesitant glance to the forest passing by. The only way to escape was to jump.

I made my way back to the open door, and prepared myself for what seemed so easy in theory but suddenly seemed impossible as the ground blurred before me. There was no time like the present. Or at least that’s what I told myself. I didn’t have time to be afraid.

I took in a deep breath, then ran and jumped.

And hit the ground unevenly, my left ankle twisting under my weight as I crashed to the ground.

White hot pain shot up my leg, and I screamed. The sound echoed through the forest. Hot tears ran down my face, and I desperately tried to move. My ankle was dead weight; lying behind me at a crazy angle. The air held tension as I pulled myself along the floor, and I realized how vulnerable I was.

I had to run. I couldn’t give up now. Not so easily.

I heard a loud snap from somewhere behind me, like a branch being stepped on.

I got up as quickly as my body allowed and obeyed, forgetting the pain that had been almost overwhelming seconds before. My hurt ankle was clumsy as I ran, but what seemed to bother me more was the fact I was fleeing through a forest without shoes. Sticks, rocks, and brush tore unforgiving at my feet.

Suddenly, I was pulled back to my left by a branch catching on my dress. I desperately pulled free and turned around to see red.

A high squeal caught in my throat, thinking that it might be blood. Then I realized that it was a piece of my clothing.

Blood red silk.

Where had I been to wear something so fancy?

I couldn’t remember anything, but I crashed on through the trees, forcing myself to keep moving. My foot caught on a tree root, and branches whipped my face. Finally, my knees gave out and I tumbled to the ground. My hands hit the dirt, trying to keep my body up. It was barely a second before they too collapsed. I fell onto my back, feeling dizzy and hot. The world spun above me. I closed my eyes to try and blink away the feeling, and found that they wouldn’t open.

Once again, darkness surrounded me.

 ***

Hey everyone! This is the beginning of The Price of Fame! Sadly, this won't be like most of my other stories where I'll 'post every Saturday' and stuff. Because this story IS written with my best friend - and it's our absolute favorite -  we want to make sure everything is PERFECT before sharing it with the public. ;)

So please stick around because I'll be posting a lot of what we have already got written soon. It's going to be exciting and crazy and dramatic and intense. SUPER intense people... it's gonna be good.

Anyway, thanks for reading this and please comment and vote if you liked it! Love you sweeties! Enjoy!
